I'm trying to find the clutch mod where you drill a hole, put a screw in and cut it. Then you put teflon on the outside edges. If anyone know's about this anything would help. It's to help 3rd gear kick in.

Thanks.

Hey poo, I remember that one. it was CEN's forum site. dont remember it being here. But it is actually known as the 3rd gear shift mod..

When I get back from our monthly Crawling clinic at the LHS this afternoon I will see if I can find it...

Edit Added: That mod was created by PPMan..

Thanks, I'm going to try there now. I remember seeing it before I bought my GST. It was a slick mod I wanted to keep on hand, help out jamie and everyone else having problems.

Good luck, didn't come up on the search

You know how funny that is??? some of the problems I have been working on lately, the symptoms remind me of an epileptic dog with all the twitching

I had a dog that was something like that, every time he smelled smoke he would have seizures.

I can't believe how many things have CEN in them. I google my yahoo untill I had hotbot all over the place and I couldn't find anything. Movie time, my brain needs some off time.

I looked so hard I infected my computer , glad I have killer protection.

I remember most I think. The one thing hanging me up is what kind of screw was used, wood or metal, and I think the hole he drilled got filled with expoxy before the screw went in.

Maybe it's time for some ginkgo and coffee

I think when the Cen Forum was down, they started back up from scratch. I couldn't find some old stuff

That really sucks. That was a great mod. I just went through my old post, and besides from asking the same question more than once I couldn't find it. Thought there was a link in a old post

I remember it, but not clearly. I'm sure it was a cut off piece of metal screws/bolts covered with expox to hold them in the shoes.

Then cover the sides you drilled with teflon and install.

So it's...
Hole(don't know size)...
Expoxy screw in hole, let dry...
Cut screw flush...
Cover sides showing screw with teflon/resin and install...

I remember the mod clearly. I could do it competely from memory.. but.... The sides were covered with flexibe carbon sheets epoxied on the shoe after running 2 screws in and cutting heads off flush. Simple mod really, the point is to add a touch of weight an the carbon mat is to keep shoe together at high speeds..
