I am sitting here in Puerto Rico, and remembering the fun times I had in VA going to the flying field. Even though I was lucky if I could get up once, due to the many problems that plagued my planes, I miss the inspiration to keep building. You tend to build quicker in my opinion when there is an event or someone to show your plane off to. Everytime I go to the fying field here, it is empty and locked, and no club has a website to contact. You would think a place with weather like this would be swarming with planes all the time, but to me it is not so. I have gone so far as to build a CL plane just to have something to fly, because the CL club here actually has a website, and it is updated occasionally. The two flying sites I have managed to find are with seemingly top secret instructions, but the times I was given when people would be flying were bogus. Well just sitting here on another wasted weekend lamenting. Anyone know when people will be anywhere at the fields around here give me a shout, my AMA membership is nothing more than a magazine subscription right now.

Just curious, but have you tried the contact info from the AMA website? you can do a search for clubs in an area, just look for the link at the bottom of the page. That may give you a different contact than what you've had. Of course, I have found this info to lack updates too. I drive truck and have been looking for fields to fly at when I have extra time. Having something of a rough time getting a hold of people though.

Try contacting the local UPS driver, he may be able to tell you of smeone getting stuff from Tower ~~ then you may find a friend. Also the local EMS or police / sheriff may know and I found them very helpfull when I was on the road. ENJOY !!! RED
