Congrats [sm=thumbs_up.gif] Take your time & enjoy it. If you are planning on doing any hop-ups, wait until you have them all because it will make assembly easier. I bought a bunch of these (see attachment) for $1.50 each to organize all my spare screws and found it works great during a build.

there seem to be more hop-ups for the Scania, eg: these light kits.. http://www.hobbydirekt.de/Carson/Truckmodelle:::220_231.html they aint cheap but 1/14 rarely is! what trailer you getting?

No much hop-ups for my scania, just the MFU. Initially wanted to use the 6EXAPS but being digital trim, don't think it will work. I will go with the 4EX but was told by the LHS that the 4EX have been replaced by a newer TX (forgot to ask what model) so will drop by on Wed to check it out. I was also told that it has analog trim and there's even a picture of the truck on the packaging.

hi astroboy, i think you would have to decide if you want a topline or highline. i think there's this guy in hong kong selling the conversion kit to make the scania a highline for about hkd600. a highline is one with a much taller cab, but i think the stock R470 looks damn good already. also, think you would have to think if you want the spoiler or not. if you do not want the spoiler, then you might want to sand off the two marks on the roof of the cab, and patch up the two holes before starting on the paint work. btw, some 8 of us just had a rig meet earlier this month at pasir ris. think there'll be another one coming up in early may. you interested?

Highline is standard, the Topline (tall cab) is the aftermarket alternative, i think its made by Robbe.

I will probably have it stock. I like the current look of the scania, really nice[:D] Just received a update that the order has been sent out already. I am currently tracking it intensely[>:][:D] and can't wait for it to arrive.

Oh yeah, just got the Futaba 4VWD transmitter yesterday from the LHS. Actually wanted to get the skysport but was told it's out of stock so no choice just paid for the 4VWD since my truck will be arriving soon and I don't want to build without a TX.

Guys, need some advice. I am thinking of threading(is it correct term) some aluminium rods to fit either a M3 or M4 nut. I would like to know what should the diameter be if its for M3 and M4 separately. The diameter I am referring to is before the threading process. Thanks.

M3 x 0.5 = 2.50 diameter hole M4 x 0.7 = 3.90 diameter hole 0.5 & 0.7 is the thread pitch

Hi Longhair, thanks for the prompt reply. The info you provided is meant for threading holes correct. I am looking at making some aluminuim rods with screw threads on them. I am making some axle with threads on each end so that I can use some lock nuts to hold the wheels in place. Hope it's clear what I am trying to do as I am no machinist so not too familiar with those terms. Rod diameter required before threading to fit a M3 nut? Ahh... You want to make a screw so a bolt will fit into it. I got it backwards [:@] Then just get a 3mm / 4mm rod and thread it. Make sure you use some cutting fluid (oil, wd-40, etc.) when you do it or else it will be a pain.

Great thanks Longhair. I will try it and see how it goes. Oh yeah, someone sent me a pm saying that I will need a 60 degree cutter for the job which I am not sure why its so? Any idea?

Haven't decided yet. I am thinking of building a drop deck trailer to ferry my tanks. I am not sure if it will work out but it's a good challenge to me.
