Greetings, I'm looking for ideas for the best profile plane for the OX 55AX. Lots of guys are saying that the 46AX is more than enough power for the profiles, but the 55 does weigh over an ounce more than the 46.... and I already have a new 55AX looking for a home.

I would think the best profile for the 55AX would have slightly more wing area or handle the slightly heavier engine better. Perhaps the weight of the 55 doesn't matter that much though ... ?

Thanks,

Ernie

Well I have a 55AX on my PRIMO and it is a wonderful machine. I don't think you would have any problems bolting it on any of the 40 sized profiles there. OMP makes some really nice ones

I have an OS 55AX in an Accel Katana GS and it's a very good matchI have over twenty planes and this is one of my favorites! Had a 46AX in it first and that was alright, but this 55 really rocks!

I think the Accel Katana is no mas...

A Boxxer ARF would be good as well.

Drop the 55AX in anything from an Edge 540V3 from OMP, Primo from Swanyshouse or Slide 48 from Texas Hobbies. You can never have too much power...

Any of the OMP 40 size slabs will be outstanding with a 55AX yanking it around. The OMP planes will handle the extra ounce and a half without knowing its there.

I have an OMP 65" Yak that I have an Enya 120R mounted on and tail weight to make it balance. It is the heaviest 65" yak I've ever seen and it is so light on its feet you can't tell its heavier than any of the others out there.
