like i was into heli's for 9 months and most guys swear buy the trex heli's.. but there are some knock offs of the trex heli's that are very close..

now ian,, a real cool guy that called me told me some good stuff about traxx.. now like ai said,,i am very new.. thats why i am here.. maybe i should have posted my question is another forum.. but i have heard of the traxx before that is why i chose this section,..\

i see duratrax is another popular one and revo too.. so freaking confusing!!! everyone has their own opinion which is cool.. but what i would like is something that is of good/decent quality and is rtr.. i know i will still need a couple things like a battery for the ez-start system.. now does each truck have it's own thing to start the trucks or can i use the same one to start both if they are the both the same make of car??

jake..

I dont think someone who has had bad luck with a particular companie's products should be bashing them just because they have had bad luck. As for the rustler or the stampede, that probably would make for a wise choice for someone just getting into the car/truck side of things.....simply because they arent nearly as complex per say as some of the other vehicles out there are and the fact that parts for most traxxas vehicles are pretty widely available....

If you want to do major offroading i would go with the T-MAXX. The jato would be good for racing as well as offroading but with the t-maxx you can go practically anywhere. If you dont mind spending the extra money for a 3.3 engine then do it. Your performance will be much better. If you go for the Jato you will have to spend an extra 40-50 dollars on a set of new off road tires. If you buy the Jato 3.3 you can get a complete kit of EVERYTHING you will need to run it for about 10 tanks of fuel at rcplanet.com. I dont think you can get a complete kit for the T-MAXX 3.3 but i bought the kit for the jato 3.3. Everything that comes with it is great. You also asked about using the Heli batteries for the EZ-start. Dont because it requires traxxas plug to work with the start system. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. below are the links to a few traxxas cars that come with the complete kit.

T-Maxx 2.5 Complete
Jato 3.3 Complete
Nitro Sport .15 Engine Complete

Since no one else defended the Thunder Tiger ST-1, I will point out some of its positive features.

1. It is simpler in design than a monster truck with a single speed transmission, no reverse, and a flat plate chassis. This means it is much easier to maintain and has less to go wrong.

2. The 28 Pro engine is the same one used in the Monster GT 4.6, and Thunder Tiger engines have EARNED their reputation as among the easiest in the hobby to tune. The TT engine in my MGT is somewhere around 10 gallons old and still going - I only have to re-tune it between summer and winter running.

3. If you ever decide to get into racing, the Truggy class is one of the hottest at the moment, and the ST-1 is a very competitive platform to campaign in that class.

4. Parts are available lots of places if you look. Your LHS may or may not have TT stuff in stock, but many of the larger online stores do, including Tower and A-Main

Nothing against Traxxas cars(I own one), but there are other things out there...

I just started reading this thread and I wonder what you bought . Most of the guys here appear to be traxxas people . I have owned alot of everything but never a Traxxas product . I will say though I bought a Tmaxx for my son and out of all the stuff I have had his tmaxx is still running . The ease of use makes it a good begginers vehicle . I will give my two cents . The MGT is a very strong reliable vehicle . It handles like a tmaxx but is tough like a savage . The truggy world is a good place to look as well . So what did you get ?
