Kmot is correct. The 45 FSR ABC is NOT a four stroke.

It's anyone's guess but Kmot is probably close. The very first model was the SR which was their first Schneurle ported engine but it had a rear induction drum valve (it was a pylon Racing engine) so R could be either Rear or Racing. Then they used the same crankcase but used a Front induction crankshaft.

The rear intake engines were known as RSR or RSR-P for pylon.

F front intake
S side exhaust
R ?? probably design/application type

MVVS uses the same, but with fuel as first digit so
Gfs/r means
glow (gas = I for Ignition)
front intake
side or rear exhaust (rotate cylinder)
GRR means glow, rear intake, rear exhaust

The rear intake engines were known as RSR or RSR-P for pylon.

They were the later disc valve engines.

Pe Reivers :I have a new in the box Evolution 26 GT and a new in the box Evolution 26GT2 and I plan to install them on a KMP Tigercat. MY questions are, will mixing the two generation 26's present a reliability problem? What would be involved in up grading The 26GT to 26GT2?

Front Schneurle Rotor is a term from the 70's. It just popped into my head from my dusty old memory banks.

Mix whatever you like. Just be aware that the prop drive washer is part of the ignition.
If you plan to fly 3D with the engine, it is wise to put an extra shim under the head ( unless you live at higher altitudes), and keep rev's up by avoiding the high load props 18x8 and upwards.

I think the 'R' stands for rotary.

F = Front intake

S = Side exhaust

R = Ringed piston

Theres the answer in a nut shell!

P.S. they are great running engines!

Sorry, most FSR engines were NOT ringed. Kmot has the correct answer.
