Ok guys, after a year of thinking, reasearch, i think im ready to start to design her. I got the design down, but the dimensions are the tricky part. It will be mod a bit to fly better ,but should look good.
It will have a small W/S of only 52 inches.
It will have a HUGE length of 92 inches.
Powered by a .91 ASP 2 stroke, pusher, natrually.
will have a removable neck, and the wings will come off for easy transportation since the fus will be about 80-70 inches with out the neck.
SO, what do you guys think?????

the design,
the fus at the moment is basicly a built by interlocking parts to make like structure. the wing is to come later, it has a very thin wing, but a .90 should fly it it think, if not i got a Moki 2.10 that needs a plane, lol.

Gyro:

You are aware that the fuselage was a very complex shape, far from being a plain round body?

And are you planning to make the outer panels droop?

Bill.

what you mean, it seems the fus has a slight wing shape to it.
I know its not a round fuse, building it will be a heck of a challenge.
Not sure about the outer panels, thatll be alot of work to get those to drop down, if ya have any ideas, let me know, love to know,
thanks Bill, im gonna need the help building this bird, lol.

Built a static display model of the B-70 with all working surfaces years ago. I don't have any drawings left, but I still know how to get the 65 degree droop.

I don't have a working CAD program, but if you PM or Email me your mailing address I can knock out some sketches for you.

Bill.

at the moment we are in the area of design, but i will post pictures for you to see while I build it.
At the moment im building a friends slow poke, so as soon as its out of here , i can start construction.

I have been looking at a book, I have the dimensions of every thing basicly
The canard is only for flaps, the XB had elevons.
The rudder needs to be redesigned, the hindge point was in a hard to do place.
Im not sure about the wing tips yet, when i get the stuff from bill, ill see what i can do. but if any of you are interested, im gonna try to make some decent plans, so if any of ya would like a set let me know, they wont be priced very high at all.
If it flies, I have a friend that wants one, so im going to build one for him, once again the price for that isnt very expensive, i said im thinking $200-$300 for a built one, but thats if it flies.
Ill Keep yall informed on any neat info i find or any updates on whats going on.
here some "plans" off the net, this is the best i can get them toghether, they came separated.

Looks like a cool project. Would love to see the original. Number 2 crashed just hours before I was born.

Ever seen the Russian copy? What a dog!

How much wing area is on that 52 inch plan? Seems a trifle small for a 91 unless you've got around 700 to 750 sq inches.

Don't worry about the length, other than trying not to build it too heavy. It's the wing area that you're going to need.

Bruce:

That layout, with a 52" span, will give him over 1800 sq" with the outer panels extended. The effective area will be a lot less (haven't done the math) with the panels down at 65 degrees. My thought was that a 91 might not be enough, rather than too much.

Bill.

here is some info to work with, maybe itll work, ask any questions, and ill put the info out for you.

Total Effective area aft of hinge line ... 197.7 sq. ft
(includes 3.33 sq ft air gap at wing tip fold line)
Span.......................................................
wing tips up...................................20.44 ft
wing tips down .............................13.98 ft
cord................................................116 in
sweepback of hinge line................0 deg

On the diagram in my book, it shows 105 inch W/S and 185 inches long, i took those, divided by 2 and got 52 inch W/S and 92 inches long. so basicly, its all divided by 2. hope it helps a little, i have what i think to have almost any info youd ever want, maybe.
