Has anyone been to Warbirds and Classics over the Midwest in Fond Du Lac, WI ? Me and my dad love warbirds, he named me after the Allison engine used in the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk,he was working on at the time (he used to be a aircraft mechanic), so, warbirds are real special to the both of us. So, me and him thought this could be a wonderful father/daughter bonding time. Any information on the show would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning,

I am the CD for the event. All the necessary info for the event is at the website www.midwestwarbirds.com. It takes place Aug 15, 16 and 17 and will be well worth your while to attend.

Thanks for inquiring and hope to see you there,

Hello all,

The "Warbirds and Classics over the Midwest" event is a must on my list. Many of the top builders and pilots from all over the midwest were at the inaugural event last year. They put on a great dinner for the pilots. The field is 850' long about 300' wide and is as smooth as a billard table. Tons of spectaters. Great burgers and brats served all day. Check out who has already pre registered for this years event. You will recognize many of the names from the pages of various RC magazines. Just log onto www.midwestwarbirds.com and check it out. The slideshow from last year will give you an idea of the calibur of the event.

RZ,

Thanks for the information. I saw the slideshow and was amazed at the variety of the planes. Gee, I wish our field was "billard table" smooth

I plan on coming over with the crew from Minnesota. They went last year and could not say enough praise about it. It's the weekend after our event in Owatonna MN. So it'll be a busy week for me!

I have a question about the event. It sounds like it's a giant scale event. How strict are the rules on that? I have my Pica Mustang to bring but I also have a 70" Hellcat that I'm finishing a conversion to electric power. Its still large but most d not consider it giant scale and not IMAA for sure.

I'm just wondering what I should plan on bringing.

bassman,

If I end up going on Friday, I'll be sure to stop by and say hi. It looks like a pretty good lineup for pilots, a lot of the names sound very familiar. From what I've read from everybody on here, and saw on the website, It'll surely be a great time !
