i have an aftershock and have tweaked the settings abit and am gettin kinda stuck here..... when i start it it'll idle but as soon as i touch the throttle it stalls. would this be caused by the idle dial in the back? or the low speed? it seems like it floods as soon as i bailry touch the throttle.. once its warmed up its ok but the first run i REALLY have to ease in to it and it takes alot of effort.

anyone know the stock settings for the idle on this truck? i know the low and highspeed are both 3 turns out.. so im not runing it too rich........ im wondering if i may have set my idle way off causing this..

take off your air filter and check your gap opening. It should be about 1mm. If it dies when you hit the throttle when cold that means its a little rich. Not a big issue, just let it warm up. I have the same situation with my LRP in my LST2. After letting the truck warm up a tad I take a few slow runs to get the temp up and once it is WATCH OUT!

Try starting with the wheels off the ground so that you can give it some throttle the moment it starts to fire. That will help clear the chamber.

that helps.. but IT STILL doesn't work when its cold.... the only thing im unsure of is the idle screw in the back... i don't know what the factory settings are either and its not in the manual haha

I would say back that thing all the way off and start it without an Idle screw, the Idle screw if into far can cause a dead spot down low. Also I think that your low speed it too rich. Try leaning it out.

Removing the idle screw will mean the carb closes all the way shut at idle or brake. That will shut the engine off. The stock setting for the idle gap is 1 mm. Set the idle screw so that the carb is open 1mm when the linkage is at neutral and on brake.

thanks for the help.. without these fourms i would have sold it for parts by now hahaha... althow.. 2 pull starts and a dead glow plug and settings out of wack isn't too bad... my buddys purchased a mamoth xt and a tmaxx at the same time and the aftershock is holding up WAY better

Yeah can't beat a Losi (although I try my hardest!). I have a T-maxx 2.5R that I bought off of a pal at work for $75.00 . I like the T-maxx for running in the yard but as far as the slate dumps and tracks are concerned the LST2 wins hands down.

Yeah, I was running both of mine today and the T-Maxx TRX 2.5R fried! No warning whatsoever, no bogging, no cut-out no hesitation and no overheating! Now I gotta find another engine that doesn't begin with TRX, LOL. That one only had about 1.5 gallons thru it! If I get the extended chassis for the T-maxx I might drop in my old Mach 427! I just don't think the tranny and drive train will handle it!

If you have the stock engine that came with the aftshock then the stock needle settings ARE in the manual. Its 3 turns out from bottom for both low and high needles. As for the stalling my spec 3 does the same thing. I have to let it warm up for atleast 5 mins with the throttle on just enough so it doesn't stall but warm up quicker. Once it gets warmer the high speed leans out naturaly and shes a monster on full lol.

actualy the factory settings for the low and hi speed are in the manual.. wich i knew already... but for the idle screw in the back they are not... i have doubble checked and looked around for them and was unable to find them. its good now and runs great.. just had it idleing quite low so it would stall as soon as i touched the throttle
