Here's mine.... all 26 lbs. 8 oz. of her. Sounds heavy, but flies fine, so maybe it's okay at this weight.
Nothing to take out, so it is what it is.

Hope Francis doesn't mind pics of mine on his thread.

Hi Bob

Congrads on your flight hope you place some videos.
No problem on your pics the more the meryer this is what its all about.
pity we cannot fly this plans together.

I also flew mine on Sat,

She went like a dream no trims required.
I was not very happy on the throws i also added more throw to mine.

Regarding the weight she came out 11Klos 700g quite happy.
I just dont have words for this plane out of this world.

Doing break down on the motor i was flying with a menz26X10 and she was a bulet a bit to fast for my liking
I have decided to change the prop to menz 26 X 8 i think its better for the smother and slower landings till the breaking in is done.

Just wanted to add that i had the CG @ 5"3/4 inchs and she still feels a bit nose haevy will keep the model as is
antill i finish with the running in the ZDZ80RV-J requires 3 Hrs i have only done 18mits in flight.

Some info on the flight

Taxi was great i placed her in the centre of the runway and I

Opend up the throttle she went strait up the runway no bad habits,
at only half throttle she took of and i must add quite smooth did not expect that,
banked to the left and all went a ok,
I flew her left to right a few times to get the feel of the modle and it was very forgiving. did not seem like a big model,
I tride the first roll and she did it with quite aes, loops no proble quete straite she is like going on rails this model has
a lot of potential on acrobatics.
I also tride a snaproll and it was impresive. with no tendensy. i did a slow pas and and she was quite staible.
We for the approach and she just flaired strait in with no problem.

Well over all i just cant wait for the week end one of the best flyers i have flown for quite a while.

Here you can see the video in my youtube.

Happy flying

Francis,

Congratulations on the successful maiden flight, I enjoyed the video!

Bob,
Congratulations also on you successful maiden flight over the weekend. I posted a reply earlier, but for some reason it doesn't show up. I had a couple of questions. Didn't you fly the GP Ultimate also, if so how would you compare this Ultimate the GP Ultimate? I have two of them and wouldn't mind a bigger one. Did you use an A123 battery for the ignition, if so, did you use diodes to reduce the voltage? I'm running A123's on my two DL50's without diodes.
Chuck

Chuck - yes on the A123's. No on diodes; the DL100 comes with version 2.0 RcExcell, so is A123 safe.

No comparison between the GP and this one. I loved the GP, but it always felt like a "model". This one, I think due to it's added size and nearly double weight, is much more "real". I like it a lot so far.

The flying wire attachment system is flawless. No issues there, no loosening, and no signs of wear. My last couple flights I was pretty brutal with snaps, tumbles, spins, outside KE snaps, etc., landing frequently to inspect things. Still solid. No parts left, or showing signs of impending departure.

It is just a true joy to fly this one, and I was (and am) surprised at how rapidly I became very comfortable with it's characteristics and built up confidence in the engine and airframe. Looking forward to many more hours with this one!!

Francis M - WELL DONE!!!!!!!! Yours just looks terrific, and is far better than the stock colors. Great job there! Your ZDZ sounds like it is doing the job, too.

I think we have "keepers".

Hi Guys

I must add the flying of the Ultimate it can be very docile as you want it also you can fly her to the extreme 3D.

I also have the Seagull Models 120 Ultimate and she fly’s more or les the same in some aspects you cannot compare a 33% Model to a 120 size but after flying the 33%
I would love to fly a 42%.

Like always we want more heheheheh.

9.9 Kg = 21.826 Pounds. You should have plenty of power with your engine choice. You are doing a fine job and it's fantastic that your including all the pictures along with your build thread. I want to build one of these. You are inspiring me to buy this plane and start building. Again, great job. I hope you enjoy flying it as much as you do building it. Please upload the video of your first flights. Remember, there's only one first flight and to record it is a must. Best of luck and may you have a perfect first flight.

Thanks for the help guy's. What do you guy's think of the Desert Aircraft DA50/DA100 engines? Which engines would you prefer based on cost and performance? Again thanks for helping out. Remember, keep the rubber side down.

DA's enjoy an absolutely stellar reputation, with tons of followers.
DL has recently introduced it's 100, I'm very happy with mine.
This plane could be VERY adequately powered with either a DA 85 or ZDZ 80. The 100 is *almos* overkill, but I'm dealing with it....
