As you can see from the pics Im uploading, there was more sheeting damage than I originally thought. I discovered this while peeling back the covering in preparation for the glue insertion at the crack. I'm going ahead with a sheet patch and will post pics of the prep work Ive done in a reply to this thread. I apologize for the quality of the pictures, I have a cell phone camera only..

Repair job phase one, cut out the bad material ansd inspect the inner wing structure. No rib or spar damage found, so i will go ahead with a simple sheeting patch. I did note the leading edge of one side was cracked, Im going to epoxy a support fill behind it from rib to rib.

Final prep phase tabs epoxied in place once dry i can cut a sheet patch and epoxy it over. Meanwhile I need to find a suitable stick to fix the leading edge damage with before my epoxy dries LOL

FWIW, the type of repairs you're doing don't need epoxy. You'll find you can work faster and lighter using Wood Glue. And the final result will be easier to sand. Brad

Brad I'll rememberthat, thanks! As for the sheeting, have to get to the hobby shop to get some, and some blue Ultra cote as well. Today as likely as not!

Are going to make more ribs and mount it where the wing's saddle is ? The leading edge would easy, just use some sticks and sand it into shape. I'd put masking tape over the covering so i don't sand it when sanding the new sheeting flush.

Sheeting glued in and weighted for drying, no pics this time LOL! I will trim and sand tomorrow, and hopefully cover it as well..

Audi all you have to do is make a stencil Just sholve a little pice of paper in the front and trace it then make a rib, it dosn't have to be pefect. This way when tips over again, it's not going to get crush or collaps at that same place again.

Yeah, after sandin the pach this morning I am seeing I will likely as not be repairing this again, whne I do it will get a rib added. Wish I had considered it more the first time around but I didnt :(

you'll be right. just don't tip it over again[:)] Now you know half of the engineers that design these model don't fly them.lol Becuase all the the models or kits I've built don't have ribs directly under or over where the saddel is .[:D] Lets just say I've crushed it like that before.lol
