One lhs here sold it for awhile, but he said there wasn't enough quality in it to keep it in stock. He said the plastic pipes always melted and the gear alloys were poor.

WOW, plastic pipes! Hobby shops shouldn't sell it cause they are meant to be sold at walmart.

OFNA was on the bleeding edge of 1/8th buggies back in the early 1980's when I bought my first one, and I have owned several since then. I consider their products to have improved by leaps and bounds over the last 25 years and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed by one of their products that I've owned.

I consider them a leading company in the area of 1/8th buggy and truck performance, and at a price that doesn't cause you to mortgage the house or sell your kids.

HPI or thunder tiger. The ST-1 is more durable than the savage and is VERY competitive in the truggy class racing and the S3 is the national champion buggy.

Losi Ive have had my MF2 for almost 2 yrs and its awesome. Very durable for a racer too. And it was my first build and it was very easy.
Traxxas is great too, But ive had bad luck with traxxas being durable.

everyone has problems with traxxas being durable

yeah, and REDCAT is in second place, that's how you know this whole thing has been compromised by fanboys from the HPI and redcat forums coming to vote in mass

Yep, I was the one that passed the word on to the HPI guys, and someone from the Redcat and Himoto forums passed the word on to thier fellow fans. I was hoping that the Traxxas guys and the Losi guys would pass the word on to their fellow fans so that a more proper vote showing would be represented. Unfortunately, the word was never passed on to the other circles and the vote is therefore skewed.

Well, I voted HPI!! now as long as noone tells Ericem and his band of merry ST1 owners we have this thing won hands down!!
Honestly that wasnt a very hard decision for me but.... I have owned an OFNA and loved/hated it, I absolutely have nothing bad to say about my Sportwerks and just bought a Caster K8T I have alot of experience with the Thunder Tiger ST1 and love it as well.... HPI was my first and even tho I am moving more towards Truggys and Buggys for the racing scene it is still my favorite to drive for all of MY reasons.... as this poll has asked of me. not because you cant break it, its fast, wheelies on demand, 3 speeds are better than 1, it cant turn like a truggy but when they see me coming they get outta the way!!, parts are everywhere, its gotta cool name, I could go on but I wont. Oh yeah and we have a great group of guys in our part of this site!! Id like to send out a special thanks to SAVAGEJIM for pointing me in this direction.. SAVAGE NATION!!!!

Tamiya has been around since rc models became popular. They continue to make better and better vehicles as technology progresses, yet they still carry some of their popular ones from the 80's. Why, when the technology on them is so old? Because they are some of the most fun to drive. There's something about a classic Tamiya that makes it fun to drive, no matter how old it is.
Now only if there were more Tamiya fans to vote....

Yeah, I found out that many iof the older fans got into RCs with a Tamiya as their very first RC. Most have moved on to other big brands, and some are now locked into the top grade RCs like a Serpent or Mugen, but I bet those guys hold Tmiya in thier hearts somewhere.
