Sirkaos -> Questions before purchasing AFPD (5/1/2008 4:52:53 PM)

My computer set up is as follows:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86 GHZ , 1066Mhz FSB
NForce 650i Ultra Motherboard
2 gigs memory sticks
e-Ge-Force 7600 GS video card 512mb
300 Gig hard drive
Windows XP Home Edition
ViewSonic VG 900 B 19 inch LCD display
500 watt power supply mounted in a Cool Tower with two fans

I have an JR 8103 transmitter and would like to use to really practice. How do I check the FPS that I have right now?

I fly old classic pattern aircraft like Bridi Utter Kaos, a H9 CAP 232 1/4 scale, various gliders, and finishing a P-47 Top Flight Gold Edition 1/4 scale.

Is the computer enough so I can get the same outstanding scenery and details as I saw at the E flight convention recently at the Cardinals stadium here
in Phoenix?

I probably would start off with just the AFPD then from there.....

I have a similar hardware spec and get decent response from AFPD vers 1.8.0.25. I installed a newer version of the software from their web site and it was too slow to use. So I went back to 1.8 and it is running fine again. My graphics processor is not up to the task of the newest version. I'm using a two-year old Dell Latitude D810 notebook: 2 Gig memory, 2.13 GHz processor. video is whatever is onboard the notebook board (ATI Mobility X600). I suspect your Geforce video card will be better than what I have.

Yeah, I think the video card may be faster. I want to get a lap top too. I went ahead and ordered AFPD today and got free shipping and the first Add on.
Do you know how I can check the FPS on my computer?
How has the tech help been for you?

The fps shows in the lower corner of the screen when you're running. I have not had the need for any tech support.
