yeah Im running a sway bar but only in the rear right now. You have to use the ATM arms if you want to use the sway bars and the ATM arms even feel weaker than the stock arms. Ive broken 4 ATM arms compared to 0 stockarms. Im thinking of going aluminum and having my friend at work drill and tap the holes so I can use the sway bars with them. Otherwise if I break another arm I may just give up on them. For the record though they do create a noticable difference in handliing.

don't get the alum ones, they will rip out your hingepin holders, why not get your friend to drill and tap the stock plastic ones instead, ya, thats a bumr man, can you only get the swaybar and not the junky arms or what[>:], shure sounds like it helps a ton[:D]

Mousesi2k -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/13/2008 5:16:39 AM)

Got an RC18B wing today and modded it up a bit to fit on the stock 18T towers. Had to mod the back end of the stock body to fit it but i like how it turned out.

Lilredmachine -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/13/2008 5:31:46 PM)

Some great looking minis there folks. I'm a particular fan of the beetle shell, so that Baja pushes my buttons.

My MLST2:

Wraith 7k, 33amp quark, 11.1 2000 TP lipo, 2.2 rims, just about everything custom.

peelin_out -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/13/2008 7:47:43 PM)

that is one sweet clean looking LST2! yeah.. I like the beetle bodies also...

I took these for another thread... but what the heck.. I will post them here also

my lil 18T.. it's a great car.. I am still on the hunt for some different wheels and tires.. I am thinking proline wabash with bow-tie tires.. these BPM alum wheels are a little heavier, but they spin so straight! there's little vibration in the car when I throttle up with these..

Lilredmachine -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/13/2008 8:05:40 PM)

Hmmmm, nice looking 18t, makes me yearn for mine back. I'll post the rest of my mini collection i think.

Various states of modification, got a couple of micro-t/dts too, Mini-z overland, x-mods etc. FTX Blaze (Vendetta I think) [:)]

And a cheap Mammoth/MLST size comp. Purely because I like staring at the mammoth. [8D]

my new 18r body.. just finished it and drove it once.. I know my wheels are thrashed.. I have new ones on the way. love those 3racing wheels/tires for the 18R.. so much better than the stockers. :)

How dare you destroy that awsome "rock crawlin" yard for that beginners track! its a very very sad day!

Frozen72 -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/16/2008 5:43:49 PM)

My dad is a landscaper so I have a waterfall that I could crawl in and about 5 different good sized rock piles. I don't think I would like a crawler that much though...

Go-Zilla -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/28/2008 11:42:46 PM)

Thanks to rschoi_75's info on the old 1/18th.com, I got myself a Mini Quake just a couple of weeks ago. Added a few parts along the way. Fun truck. Like it a lot. Better than other two 1/18 I have so far.

rawvoodoo -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/29/2008 1:09:53 AM)

Ok so I got a great deal on a roll cage for my rc18t on Ebay. I tried it out and was a little disappointed. My illuzion body fit really tight and was kinda deformed by the cage same with my crowd plaesr. The stock body fit ok but why hide such a good looking and well made rollcage as this. So I tried it naked.. (the rollcage, not me[;)]) and was disturbed by how exposed it looked like that. Any mid sized rock could get in and crush something electronicky and expensive. So I put my head to it and this is the result. I am completely pleased with the result. I bought some .025" carbon fiber from Dragonplate. Sprayed it with some Candy apple red then some clearcoat. Used some binding wire from work and here it is.

oh yeah there's a pic or 2 of what I had to do to my receiver. Now its a prtial low profile

ClodAholic -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/29/2008 2:19:13 AM)

i had the same roll cage, allthought i thought it was ok cuz i ran without a bod. it actually made it feel so heavy..

my son loves his mini quake. i like it. but i notice it is very top heavy and flips over easy on hard turns. and for obvious reason. ITS A TRUCK lol but when i drive the rc18t and go to the mini you can feel the diference. but unless u put alloy parts we broke 3 knuckles and upper arms.

rawvoodoo -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/29/2008 2:46:59 AM)

yeah its definately heavy and hard to get at the battery but its not my speed body it'll just be fer bashin

Go-Zilla -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/29/2008 4:59:27 AM)

lol it is a truck, of course. Here is my other one - the 2 tons tanker...may be 3 tons.

peelin_out -> RE: OFFICIAL 1/18th PICTURE THREAD (6/29/2008 9:18:07 AM)

this is my new 18R... I built it from scratch! some left over parts and some additional ones I got to finish the project off... the esc and motor are the chinese ebay special.. 8900Kv motor and 30a esc... they actually work very well so far! who knows how long they'll last, but oh well.. I know someone with the same electronics who drives the crap out of them and they're still doing great. I hope I have the same luck. anyways.. I did the 10th scale servo mod.. pretty happy with that so far.. exotek shock towers.. I like these handling-wise, but hanging a body on these sucks.. the fronts are much higher than the stockers, so the only body which I have gotten to work right is the Kamino.. which is fine because I like this one, but it does limit your body options. so what else, stock diffs, MIP CVDs, DP gear cover and draglink.. 3racing shocks.. 15/60 gearing... for now.. I have a 54t delrin spur coming which is going on this car. :D

thanks for the comments... I have been working on this car for a month now on and off... whew. lots of time into it. :) the ESC and motor I got from ebay seller "ypin", the ESC is just a generic 30a (40a burst) brushless programmable.. I got the USB link cable for it and the software to program it.. very wonky software, but it gets the job done.. here are the esc stats:

Weight:26g
Size:42 x23 x7 mm
Constant Current:30A
Max Current: 40A (for ten seconds)
FET: 18
BEC: Yes, 2A
PWM: 8 KHz
Input: 2 to 3 Li-Po, or 6 to 10 Ni-MH/Ni-Cd

Programmable low voltage cutoff for Lipo and Nimh/Nicad
Reverse and brake

you can get this motor/esc combo here at thetoyz now.. it's just under $100.. I think I paid $76 shipped and it took 10 days to get..

anyways.. the 8900Kv rating is pretty accurate I think.. this thing is hitting about 45 or 50 on a 2s lipo.. when I run it with the 3s the tires balloon so badly the car is undrivable above about 60% throttle.. I think I need to get foamies for 3s drivin. lol. anyways.. I am hoping for 60+ on the 3s... but I need the new wheels and a bigger driving area. ;)
