I just put a ESky HH gyro on my Belt CP and no matter what I do the tail just wags, all the time, weather it be rate mode or HH mode, I've tried adjusting the gain but no luck, no matter where its adjusted it won't hold, f'in crap, anyone have any ideas before I put my rate gyro back on it, at least that held good.

I have a Futaba GY401 and that holds the tail. There are also a couple of other good gyros, but they come at a price.

it's from my experiment, ESKy and Imax HH gyros have 50:50 screw up. It's just very bad luck. If you can, ask whoever sold it to you if it's possible for them to exchange it for you.

Nuttcaze what TX are you using?
I only ask because the standard Esky TX's have rather substandard pots and the rudder pot being dirty would surely make the tail hunt all over.

The Esky HH gyro's are really quite temperature sensitive, I know alot of people actually plug everything in and leave the heli for a good 5 minutes doing absolutely nothing before flying, simply to ensure the gyro is the same from 1 battery to the next.

Nutt,

It does sound as if you have a bunk Gyro...Try mounting that Telebee from the HBK2 and see if it works. Then you can rule some stuff out. Other than that, just buy another Telebee $49.00?

Thats a drop in the bucket for you and that fleet...

mines facing up, as thats what the picture showed in the directions. I'm using the DX6i and have been adjusting the gain on the Gyro itself, all was well till I put this gyro in, my tail servo still works fine.

Really? The instructions that came with mine didn't even show a picture of how to mount it. Are these the instructions you have?

If we're talking about the same gyro, facing up is definitely not right and will cause the tail to wag out of control.

no, mine came with different instructions that show it on a Belt CP with it facing up, but I'll go ahead and try puttig it on its side, which way should I try facing it?

I'm right there where I'm gonna put the rate gyro back on it.

I think I just have mine facing towards the tail, but it doesn't matter. What does matter is which edge is up. Try just holding it and wiggling it different ways to see which way seems to be the right way, that's what I did.

LOL, that reminds me, the manual for my E-Smart says, and I quote

"The inner of heli are also formed by many precise electric parts, so it must avoid damp or moisture, and avoid using in bathroom or rainny day to prevent the waterenter the inner of heli from damage or causing unpredictable accident"

I was VERY MAD when I read that, the whole reason I bought my E-Smart was to fly it in my bathroom and take aerial photos

just got done wasting an entire battery trying to get this damn gyro working, crap, complete crap

And whats worse is I have really good tail control skills, from all my hours flying my HBFP, it might be working against me, I can't even tell when its suppose to be in HH mode

You can just set the radio gyro channel to the min and max to make sure it's switching between HH and rate mode.

When it's in HH mode the servo will usually creep one way or the other when the heli isn't moving and the rudder stick is centered. When you move the rudder stick the servo will move to one end or the other and stay there when you center the stick.

In rate mode the servo will follow the rudder stick movement and center when the stick is centered.
