i have this truck and love it, the only time i broke anything was when i hit curbs and stuff in the beginning. they are tuff but not unbreakable haha. you can watch videos to learn how to break an engine in and tune and stuff, people have different theories on breakin in engines, i just drove around going and stopping and doing what the manual said, and it worked.

When you break in your engine you need to set the low end needle to flush with the silver collar. High end needle should be turn inward full and 2.5 turn back out.

FOr the break in use the traxxas break in procedure, you can find that on the traxxas website and I would start with it 3 full out on the highspeed and work from there by 1/8th incraments. turning the VX HSP needle to 2.5 turns out is getting close too to lean and it will run hot.

If it's not flush with the collar during break in you"ll be running to lean on the low side and burn up the motor.
