LOL im confused u getting a nitro or elecy?

Locking the diffs is up to you m8 try it without first and see how you go i tried locked rear and went back to both open it depends on your tyres more i think and you can always unlock them if you dont get on with them being locked

Not sure about the Red cat lightning diffs but u just open them up and use something to lock them ie blutac, balls of paper etc i wouldnt use strong glue incase you decide to unlock later on.

Hello, my first drift car was a himoto Nascada, which i think is the same as the redcat. I really loved that car I wish I had never sold it. Now I drift on competitions so lets say that my himoto started my drift addiction. Well my set up was I locked the rear diff. What u need to do is take the diff out, oppened and I stuck pieces of paper between the gears and then closed it again. After that I should be locked, if not stick more paper until it is locked. Then I put thick grease on the front diff. I dont know if you are still with the stock battery, if you are get a better one. You will see what a difference the battery can make. You can get a Venom 3000 for around $25. Also my esc sucked so I changed it, the stock motor was really good. Here are some pics of my first drifter (himoto) which started my drifting addiction . If you have any question feel free to ask.

WOW Thanks yall for the quick replies, Do any yall have a pic were you added the paper ?

How about adding the drift tires onto the rears only?

Did the battery make the car feel faster?

Do any yall make your own drift tires? I heard using some PVC pipe, any info on that?

I am getting a red cat lighting electric car and some generic ebay nitro car.

Thanks you everyone for being so helpful cant wait to my car arrives so i can start drifting.

Hey lnc0321 i noticed zip ties on your shocks and spring setup, is that to make it stiffer?

You need abs tires all around and you can get them on ebay. Just search abs drift tires. Yea the Zip ties do make the car stiffer, but once you lock the rear diff, suspension adjustments are up to the driver and yes new battery made a HUGE difference

I just locked my rear diff, by adding the paper like you said, i had to repack it twice since it got looser after awhile, what kind of suspension settings you like? Do you lock the front diff? What kind of battery size is good?
