True that Nimh should not be left on a "trickle" charge (you cannot charge any battery with a trickle charge) to maintain a full charge. This does not mean that they should not be slow charged at C/10 rate for 14-16 hours, in fact they must be charged by this method initially as a forming charge, also they may be charged by this method all the time and will last longer than peak charging. So to answer the OP's question, charge at one tenth the capacity of the battery for about 16 hours, for example a 2000mAh pack would be charged at 200mA for 16 hours. A trickle charge is usually considered to be C/50 or one fiftieth of the battery capacity, this works well long term for nicds, but not recommended for nimh. Now as a practical point on nimh, our cordless phones have nimh packs, they are always on slow charge for almost 5 years, with no loss of capacity that i would notice, go fiqure[:)] [)] Pete
