Status: offline 		Does anyone know the difference between a swept back landing gear opposed to a straight one. I heard one handles grass better. Is this true or just rumours, and if true which one is better foe grass ?

Status: offline 		It depends on the particular airplane. Some need them swept back, others don't. The important factor is the location of the wheels relative to the CG.

Status: offline 		An interesting subject- in my days of control line teamrace for landing on tarmac the undercarriage was positioned back towards/ almost at the CG, and for grass quite the opposite, however as Gary says it can be determined by the model design. If the model does bounce on landing then I would take the wheels further back. Even placing the undercarriage on backwards can have an advantageous affect..............it can also be determined by the desired landing speed. Trevor h, NZ
