LDM -> RE: length of push rods-alerons & Flaps (5/2/2008 8:56:08 PM)

Well the problem with every Fw190 I have seen on this website from KMPs , CMPs ect is that the builders are adding upwards of 24oz or more to achieve CG. I have a G26 ei going on the nose , and sierra retracts are set in the most ideal position , so my next goal was to play with the servo . The flaps can be set up as "push" internally and very scale or pull externally and not so scale , my goal was more of a push system . Considering that I have flown many 70" birds and the servos for rudder and elevator on carnbon fiber rods have been flawless I figured well supported alerons and flaps rods wouldbe ok . Obviously my concern is flutter , I know I can eliminate flex so that is not a concern . Also when you add up 4 servos , two for alerons and two for flaps thats a big weight savings ahead of the CG .
