supersound99ss -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/2/2008 10:26:08 PM)

the losi is a mini, the slash a 1/10, to me they are not comparable

Chris_RC -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/2/2008 10:30:24 PM)

there is a 1/10 desert truck. Go for the DT!

supersound99ss -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/3/2008 12:09:58 AM)

ah i only saw the mini desert before....definitely losi all the way

kdiddy93 -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/6/2008 10:38:43 PM)

If you want to play it that way then here it goes.
DT cause it has working LCD lights
low maintence diff
front and rear roll cage
body looks WAYYYY cooler then the slash
tires look better
overall better look and Losi made a new ESC/motor combo for it when the Slash has the old titan/xl-5 combo that nobody wants anymore.

you also fotgot to say that you can cover your reciever with gasket sealer/ silicone to make it waterproof so the slash loses in all categories.

Chris_RC -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/6/2008 11:12:14 PM)

oh ya. everybody is gonna get the Slash just because it is waterprofed.

I just like the body, I am going to buy the body for my other truck.

mx757 -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/7/2008 12:29:10 AM)

neither one of them are nitro, so im not sure why they are posted here. either way though, they are both way different from each other. the slash looks more like a real vehicle you might see racing acrossed baja.

to me, the DT looks more real, look at these pics

Mspeed -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/7/2008 2:08:55 AM)

Unfortunetly the slash is limited cause the tires are in the fenders, thats why I would not buy it as of right now. You cant put larger tires on the slash or they will not fit under the body. I would not have that limitation on the DT, you could put larger tires on it or wider. The nice thing about the slash is the racing without having wheel hangups. But until alot of people start getting them and they start making a special race class for them at tracks, I would feel limited where I could race it due to the lack of tire and clearance it would have. 3 and a half inches of ground clearance in the middle helps, but remember the tires are only like about 4.2 or so in inches diameter. That means where the control arms extend accross in the back and front its going to be real low to the ground.

Actually, come to think of it my dad raced in the Baja 1000. He raced class 9. And when I look at CORR trucks it doesn't even look close to the Slash. The DT sorta looks like a trophy truck.

st1_racer -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/7/2008 10:09:58 PM)

i either want the losi dt or rustler vxl thats my prodlem right now. idk which one :((((((

Chris_RC -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/7/2008 10:34:48 PM)

i would go for the desert truck if it gets a good review. wait a bit.

st1_racer -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/7/2008 10:50:28 PM)

can you tell me why?? and i mean it would save me alot of cash. And losi has alot of better elctronics to right. And you are like one of the only person that said to go with the dt.. why. And if it gets a good review go with it then

st1_racer -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/7/2008 11:17:38 PM)

if this is going to be better then the rustler i will deffinantly get it. Because losi is a top noch cmpany and those electronics are way better. I could have a better battery and charger, then going with the vxl. Anyway my birthday is not untill july 16th so its early browsing. Do you think Associated will make one.

Snipin_Willy -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/7/2008 11:51:52 PM)

I think the DT looks like a 2WD ST with a squared off body, a bumper that wont last, and non aggressive tires on 2.2 rims. Not sure what to think about the Slash but I doubt you'll see many friends running them.

kdiddy93 -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/8/2008 2:50:16 AM)

the dt definetly does not look like an corr truck what corr trucks have wheels sticking a couple feet out the wheel wells and the dt does not look scale

This is the thing, LOSI DIDN'T MAKE THE DESERT TRUCK TO BE LIKE A CORR TRUCK!!!! Since the Slash came out, everybody says that the Losi one doesn't look like a corr truck when it's not suppost to be one!!!!! Read the name, DESERT TRUCK.

babflyer -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/8/2008 10:02:41 PM)

the slash is longer which should improve handling and stability in slides, wheels look to be close to the same diameter. buggies handle fine with small wheels and less ground clearance. The losi is just a "cheap" entry level same as usual stadium truck. The slash is atleast something different and the price is pretty good for something unusual. I am going to get one. I really wish it was four wheel drive and not two wheel drive though because they would have had something many more folks would have wanted. I think the slash may not be spot on as far as looking scale but its a lot closer than the losi, as mentioned before no real baja or doda series truck has wheels that wide compared to the rest of the truck and that far away from the body, a real truggy isn't even that way. A scale truggy body with a tad narrower setup, more of a b4 setup with scale tires as far as width might work descent and sell just because of the appearance to bashers. I race some, have my own track and I enjoy some of these more scale vehicles just to play with sometimes.

st1_racer -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/9/2008 12:31:02 AM)

i think the losi one is going to be better and i think i might get one rather then a rc10t4 or e-firestorm

SaVaGe MaN SS -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/12/2008 3:48:01 AM)

anyone know the top speed of the DT with stock pinion and electronics?

Chris_RC -> RE: Slash or desert truck (5/12/2008 3:58:26 AM)

probably low to mid 20's.
