Today is the day of the maiden I have watched the Finless videos and researched everything so it is setup to just take off and fly! Thank you Finless.

I have to give up for HeliHobby for making this helicopter such an easy fun experience.

The maiden went well it was very cool. Yeah that was the first nitro but I had it setup extremely well I was comfortable by the third pack.

Sorry my pictures were removed by the mods guys because my watermark was too big. I will get them back up as soon as I can confer with them because I must have a watermark.

Tried for my first flight with the Cobra today and sadness. As soon as I spooled up it spit the clutch linning! I am going to have to redo everything that was done before I got this kit as it is all wrong. I thought that I had it all but I was wrong. Oh well I have to get through everything sooner ao later.

I had a little issue with my Trex 600NSP tail kicking sideways in flight.. Here's a thread speaking about it.

The mods were extremely cool here of course as we know and got back to me right away. Here are my pictures again for those of you trying to figure out how to run your wires. Also I keep getting asked where I get my wire braid I am using 1/4" braid and 1/4" heat shrink from Fryes Electronics or outpost.com for those of you who do not have a Fryes close by. If you need a close up of any section let me know and I will get that to you.

P.S. The tail case turned on my boom on me in flight last weekend. It is said to rough up your boom with sandpaper or add a screw. I am going for an aluminum boom I believe. Remember if your tail slips and you piro clicking throttle hold will stop the piro so just auto on in!

SAH-WEEEEEEEEEEEEET machine HeliSmith!!!! I recently got into a nitro machine myself. I was pining for a 600 but damn they were soo expensive I ended up getting a Raptor .50 and I am just about done with breaking in the engine. Maiden will be soon. Just for sh*ts & giggles I blanced the T-Rex on one of the main blades and snapped this picture.. lol

Hey Mike,
Dang-I'm glad you got yor 600 up and runnin'. Do you have any idea how jealous I am now. Donica really likes the paint scheme on yours and thinks I should get a 600. Been looking into them and I think I have to have one now. I'm thinking of offering three of my older nitros for sale on e bay and if they sell good I'll turn the cash over into a 600. I'll be bugging you with questions. I know there's a lot of changes in the nitros now. My old ones are more or less gas & go. Not very fancy in the electronics.

Ask all the questions you want sir. The only thing I really want to warn you of is how afraid to crash this beautiful heli I am. I know it's all repairable but I never been quite this worried before.

I actually feel more comfortable on my nitro...it just kind of "floats" there and thus much more forgiving than my trex 450.

I had a noob mistake the other day and forgot to flip to idle 1 before doing a backflip....well, at full negative (I used a linear pitch curve in normal mode too), the throttle completely cut off (duh, I had linear throttle curve), and thought the engine died! The good old Rappy just "floated" over and when I gave it full positive collective, it recovered nicely. My trex 450 would have been an inverted lawn dart!

I don't think that's a noob mistake we all can make that one even though we go through a rigorous start up procedure things can interrupt that. That’s a human mistake.

A noob mistake for example is like being in idle up and slamming the collective down to kill the motor right before a crash. I remember doing that when I was a noob.

Fair enough....I gues I should have said "noob to nitro" mistake! LOL, because on my trex, I alway take off already in idle 1....the rappy doesn't have soft start so I have to start off in normal mode. I guess I'll just bring it to half throttle and flip to ilde 1 on the ground from now on to help avoid that.

Another Nitro-noob mistake I did last weekend: I forgot to remove the glow starter! LOL, I saw something fall off while in flight.....scared me because I was wondering what the heck part fell off!

Noob mistake I made.... I forgot to secure the receivers battery pack before running it..... Battery fell off the heli while I was spooling it up. Got it to about 20% throttle before the controls all went dead on me.... Long story short, I ended up having to grab the heli by the tail and slide my bare foot under the mains to plug the muffler with my toe. Socks do NOT protect well against heat let me tell you.... It was an adventure...
