Are the very large hindge control assemblys on the Fw190 only visable from the bottom of the aileron ?
I am in the process of building mine and I think I made the gaps too big from a top view .

here's a site that has some nice photos of the FW190 http://fw190.hobbyvista.com/detail.htm
as well the aileron from the bottom http://fw190.hobbyvista.com/piet4.jpg
and the top side http://fw190.hobbyvista.com/884five.jpg

on the FS plane the wing skin actually extends further out on the top of the wing than the bottom covering the majority of the hinging on the top of the aileron,as well the aileron is slightly offset to the top of the aileron bay, this might not be a workable situation for the willhobby arf,but its the way the actual set up is.

I am going to try to do a close to scale hinging set up on my FW 190A8 build using robart hinge points as close to the scale look within reason,I want mine to have a some what scale appearance without having to pull my hair out to get them to work properly.

Thanks Tim , I definitly made mine too big , I understand about the top sheeting overhang because it was addressed in the long willshobby FW build .
The reason I was confused is that I did see the hindge blocks appear to be much bigger , but ...it was wrong and I coped another model that was wrong lol .
So I will have to add wood back to the leading edge of the aileron , thanks for the pics .

Hi LDM,

Another site for photographs of the FW190 is our club website:

www.brcmac.org.uk

On the left hand side click on 'Scale Data' then 'Warbirds' then click on the image of the FW190. Over the next week a lot more photographs will be going on there of the FW190 at RAF Hendon.

Regards,

Sarah

I have been puzzeled on this next part of the build and welcome your comments . There is another build on RCU on a very large Fw190 .
The concern was raised when the builder attached a very scale(cut down in size ) control horn on the aileron .The concern was that the shorter the control horn on the aileron the more flutter would occur and the comments were from very experienced flyers .
My question is how to I maintain some sort of scale resemblence and not have a giant horn on the top of the aileron and worse yet not get flutter on a key flying surface from a horn that is scale but dangerous ???
