OK, been looking at every post possible before I put this out there. I have a 1/10 on-road car with a vx-18 engine(has about 9 tanks runs through it). I have replaced the fuel tank, lines, air filter assembly, and sealed the carb base. Baseline settings are: 1 mm for throttle opening, 3 turns for HSN, and flush for the LSN. Everything works great when you start it up, minor tweak here and there but nothing major(it runs great). But after about the next fill up( temps about 205-210 F), it begins to run erratically(even after playing with the throttle trim) and shuts down. There are no bubbles in the fuel lines when it shuts off. Anyone have ideas??????

You may be getting radio interference. I would start by checking your Rx and Tx batteries. Try playing with the electronics only with the nitro engine off and see if you are getting erratic movement then.

the engine and the radio doesn't need to work together. Your gas is controlled by the trottle servo and if that twitch it will cause problem. Yes start your engine and see if that will give you problem with the radio off.

You have an air leak or else you need to adjust your idle or possibly give the HSP a slight adjustment. also check your wiring if nothing happens with your wireing you may have a crappy servo, happens alot on the 3001 servos, if it turns out to be the servo, go to your local store and get a 322HD Hi-tech or airtronics servo. Your best bet would be to get a new radio system.

Thanks for the help! I just resealed the engine(just to to cover all my bases) the other day and have yet to install it back into the car. I have notice the throttle servo has been a bit glitchy, but it's been that way from day one. Will try to run it up and see what happens, then go to the servo if need be.

Sometimes the battery for the receiver is low and it will cause twitch.

Actually in my experiance with these radio systems if it's twitching from the get go, with good batteries, don't even run it, your asking for trouble find out the problem asap, chances are the radio is no good and accepting to much interferance from other things in the area. Twitching from low batteries is common and probablly a good idea to change your batteries and very rarely will only be one servo doing the twitching, if your batteries are low then 99.9% of the time both steering and throttle will twitch uncontrolably even if the transmitter and reciever are turned on. My bet is that you have a bad connection, bad radio or servo fixing to go out.

Well, know for sure the hump battery and the rechargeable batteries in the TX are good. All the connections are tight and wrapped in foam. The only servo that will twitch when you turn on the TX and RX is the throttle servo. A servo is cheaper fix than a new radio system.

swap servos plugs and see what happens first. You might end up wasting your money just to find out it was the reciever in the first place. all you have to do it unplug the steering servo and plug it in to the place the throttle servo is in now and plug the throttle servo into the place where the steering servo is now. So you swapping positions and see what happens, if your steering servo twitches in the throttle position then you reciever is probablly crap.

Swapped the connectors(throttle and steering), now the steering will do the twitching thing. Looks like the receiver is bye-bye.

ya sounds like it. I would think then in that case the receiver is bad. Let us know, because if you get the reciever and you still have twitching then it could have been the transmitter, but only way to find that out would have been to use a different transmitter. I'll bank on the reciever though.
