Just kidding. A c 40 with a Nelson would last about as long as it would take to get on the pipe. Then Boom.

This could turn out to be a good race. Lots of good pilots coming.

...

Can I enter a C 40 with a Nelson 40?

I will have my Quickie JETT powered Sky Raider Mach II there. Bring it on and we will race in "Race What You Bring".

We will be flying Club 40 to the RCPRO Club 40 rules at http://www.rcpro.org/html/rules/club_40/rules.htm and http://www.rcpro.org/html/rules/club_40/modifications.htm ... The prop rule is any unmodified commercially available prop per a change by the committee that I will get online later today.

We will fly Quickie 25 to the rules used by CCRC. AMA 424 legal airframe, OS 25 FX, 3.25 minimum weight, and APC 8x6 prop. I will have APC 8x6 props for sale to anyone who needs them.

AMA 424 is by the book, except for the smaller course size. With the guys that are flying, we may see a sub 1 minute heat time.

There are a lot of people coming, racers and non-racers, unless something drastic happens or we have bad weather.

The press release did not get sent out from LMS before Humpy retired, but I have sent it to local papers, and it is supposed to get added to their local event calendars. Hopefully it will make it into this weekend's papers.

Don, I've been asked about the RPM also. Just want to clarify the Quickie 25 rules for CCRC:

1. OS .25 FX Stock Engine with Stock muffler.
2. APC 8-6 Prop only no modifying except for on one blade for balancing
3. 16,000 RPM Maximum engine speed tested with tachometer before take off of each heat.
4. Quickie 424 rules for airframe as to construction and specifications (Wing area, fuselage thickness, etc).
5. Minimum weight of aircraft: LESS fuel 3-1/4 lbs. (3 lbs 4 oz.)

CCRC guys. Is this correct?

I will be there with a BuckShot Q25 and 424 prototype. Hoping to drag a few more guys down also!!

Bob Harris

Just in case some of you missed it earlier in this thread ...

We will be using the CCRC Quickie 25 rules at the 7-12 and 8-16 races at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Basically it is a AMA 424 Legal airframe with a minimum weight of 3 1/4 pounds. Stock O.S. 25 FX engine with stock muffler. APC 8x6 Sport Prop.

Club 40 will use the RCPRO Club 40 rules ... see www.Club40Racing.com.

AMA 424 will be by the rulebook except for being run on a 400' 2 pole course.

AMA lap counting and scoring will be used.

Please tell everyone who is coming to contact me or post a message here.

Bob, that's a minimum of 3-1/4 lbs, not 4-1/4 lbs for Q25!!! (you are welcome to ballast your to 4-1/4 lbs if you like, though)

This race is going to be a good one. Right now these are the MINIMUM number of participants: Club 40 - 8 pilots, Quickie 25 - 6 pilots, AMA 424 - 4 pilots.

I actually expect 10-12 in Club 40, 10-12 in Quickie 25, and possibly 6+ in AMA 424.

I will have the pylons up at Lowe's on Friday afternoon in case anyone wants to practice or test fly.

This will be a fun race even if you are just watching, or helping as a course worker.

The Menacing Molar will be ready for the races Saturday, with no signs of tire tracks across the wings. I will have a few traffic crossing guards standing by to keep me from driving over my plane again!! I did not see any rules about adding a long 1/4" fiberglass pole with an orange triangular flag at the end, like you'd see on kids bikes in the '70's.

Even though we've had thunderstorms all week, the flying site is mowed, and now the pylons are up. They are exactly 400' apart ... well +/- 2 inches.

The forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy. We are supposed to have some rain on Friday morning, then clear until Sunday.

I will not be online after Friday morning for much of the day. If you need me, call my cell phone at 704-968-2881. If you can't hear me, wait and call back 5 minutes later. Or you can send me email via the button below. It comes to my phone.

I will have "Do Not Cross" tape up in part of the parking lot. Please don't park beyond the tape.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I'll be there early. My Idea was to set the the popup right at the safety fence end at the far right. this will give our starter some shade durring the day. I will bring a table and my ice chests and a grill. we will need some drinks and some dogs for grilling.

Larry.
