Status: offline 		Does anyone have any experience or advice on how to solve a vibration in a Walkera 60. The machine was upgraded with alloy head and tail. I have never been able to get it off the ground because of a vibration at about mid throttle that threatens to shake it to bits. I have replaced the frame, main shaft (twice) feathering shalft and finally at my wits end replaced the the whole drive including the head, blades, the lot. The vibration is still there, tracking is fine, blades are balanced, flybar is set up properly.

I am at the end of my thether. Any suggestions?

#6) Why is my 60 vibrating?
Things you can check:
a) main blade balance and weight
b) slowly tighten the blade holder (if blades flop over when heli tilted)1/8 of a turn at a time each equally, checking it for wobble after each adjustment.
c) paddle balance/level
d) track of both of the above
To check tracking spin the blades at a low RPM and watch the color bands on the blades. If one is lower than the other, you'll know which one to adjust based on what color band it has on it.
e) all screws fastened, bolts tightened etc.
f) shaft
you can eliminate whether it's the shaft or not by revving it up without main blades, if the problem is gone, it's the blade. If it's still there, you should remove main shaft and roll it on a flat surface to see if it's bent.

Status: offline 		The best way I have found to pin point a vibration is to start tearing the thing apart untill it stops. Starting with the blades, then flybar paddles, head. I have found if you can get the head up to where there is a PC or TV screen behind it it's easier to see the movement of the vibration. With everything being new it has to be the way you have something set. Did you set the flybar pitch to zero with a pitch guage and make sure it's centered? I find most of my vibrations come from the flybar. If it's as bad as you say you shouold be able to pin point it fairly easy with Mister Scary's above tips and my TV/PC screen break down. Good luck.

Status: offline 		Thanks guys, Will try again. I have bought 2 different blade balancers and 3 different pitch guages trying to solve this problem. The blades I have came from ebay and I have noticed some pretty indifferent quality, requiring a lot of balancing. I think I will follow your suggestions, work backwards starting with the blades and see what happens.

Status: offline 		From what you said about the blades that could be your trouble. Blades must balance together for center as well as weight. I check by balancing the blades on a razor blade and marking each blade where it balances on the blade. Then check the blades against each other,,, the marks should match if they are correct. If your adding a bunch of weight to the tip only you may be throwing off the center of gravity and that could be your problem.
