I purchased the DuraTrax Compact switching power supply stock number, DTXP4300 from Tower Hobbies. When I first clamped my field charger to the power supply I blew a fuse in my charger. The power switch on the charger was on before I clamped it up so I thought that might have caused it. I had to order a set of replacement fuses for my charger. When the fuses came in I tried it once more and it worked fine. It worked a few times after that before my charger blew another fuse. I was sure this time I had the power switch off first on my charger. I replaced fuse and this happened one more time. I began to inspect the terminal that came with the power supply and to my surprise and discus I discovered that the red and black polarity sticker was backwards on one side! This explained it all. It would be nearly impossible to notice this. The few times that a fuse didn’t blow was when I got lucky and wasn’t looking at the side with the backwards sticker when I clamped on. I carefully pilled the sticker off and placed it on right. No reversed polarity/no blown fuses since. Even though I discovered the problem this is a big disappointment to me because of little attention to detail form the manufacture cost me extra money and hassle.
