Hi,

just found this pic of your 2G4 announcement in Sinsheim. How are you gonna make it? I dont think you will crack all the FASST algorithms of binding and the hopping sequenze. I rather think you will make you own transmitter modules and Rxs shown on the attached picture. Am I right?

On the other hand a Weatronic Dual-FASST receiver could be one of my favorites. [)] So I could still use my FASST FX-30.

Sorry for our uncomplete answer. Our 2.4 GHZ system can be adapted to most modern transmitters using a exchangeable TX module, i.g. Futaba T 14, FX 40, JR 10 X, JR 12 X, Graupner MC-22, MC-24, Multiplex EVO, Profi 4000 and others. We use our own 12 channel 2.4 GHz Dual FHSS transmitter modules.

Oh, great, the boss himself

Good news, but unfortunately a bit late for me. Due to some costly circumstances I changed to a FX-30 FASST for my new CARF Yak, I have an old war weary Graupner/JR equipped 100" Thunderbolt and a 110" Dauntless with a Weatronic inside awaits its maiden flight. So what should I do with all my Graupner/JR stuff? Sell it? Also an unflown Weatronic? I'll better keep it all because this particular stuff still works great at my home airfield. The FASST stuff is for my second airfield which seems to be a bit HF contaminated. However, that wea stuff really looks cool. And it's FHSS - definitely the leading rc technology for europe in the future.

How many transmitter channels will I get using Futaba 12z with your systems? Is your system like Futaba(hopping) or like JR (2 channels)?

Dear Kris,
you can use 12 channels. I must repeat: we use our own transmission system beeing a fast frequency hopping and spread spectrum system using up to 79 channels each 1 MHz broad. The transmitter output will be 100 mW (EIRP) and complies with FCC and ETSI rules. The weatronic 2.4 GHz Dual FHSS will be bidirectional beeing able to retransmit sensor or telemetry data. Weatronic 2.4 GHz Dual FHSS uses an acoustic signal which warns the pilot at reaching the limit of range and low status of on board batteries.

I just want to confirm the previous post. You are going to make transmitter modules and receivers that will work with Graupner/JR MC 22, MC 24, MX 22, MX 24, JR 9303, JR 10X, and the new JR 12X. I assume that one must have the Module version JR 12X transmitter and not the dedicated 2.4 ghz version. Also, are there any plans to make the module version JR12X work on 72 mhz version receivers? I also assume that you will make products that are compatible with all requirements of the FCC in the USA and compatible with all USA equipment requirements? Will the new receivers still offer basically all the same features of the existing product lineups?
If this is true, it appears to be good news for all flyers and offer more choices.

I am the American distributor of Weatronic systems and would like to respond to your questions.
Weatronic will be selling dual receiver systems that use frequency hopping similar to the Futaba FASST system.

We have additional features that are proprietary at this time, which will add to the safety of the systems. We will be offering a range of receivers that will go from simple 8 channel DR plug and play to fully programmable 12 channel 24 servo with integrated 3 axis heading lock capable systems with integrated power supply.

Our 2.4 GHZ system can be adapted to most modern transmitters using an exchangeable TX module, i.g. Futaba T 14, FX 40, JR 10 X, JR 12 X, Graupner MC-22, MC-24, Multiplex EVO, Profi 4000 and others. We use our own 12 channel 2.4 GHz Dual FHSS transmitter modules.

It is correct that the transmitter must be equipped with a frequency module. There might be some exceptions in regards to the Multiplex systems.

Of course, the systems sold will all be in compliance with the FCC requirements.

Timing will be dependant on getting all the permissions after showing compliance to all the rules.

You must be aware the Multiplex EVO 12 channel is not an external module but an internal board...right?
Considering this is an industry regulated protocol there should be no permissions considering compliance
is adhered to.

I for one would like to see a board level module for the EVO-12 and
a programmable 16 plus receiver which would permit programming
of function across time on additional channels coupled to the 12.

Things like bombay and retract sequencing could be managed so so
easily with a receiver with this capability instead of having to load up
every available inch with ECU's. to say nothing for coupling slats, flaps
and ailerons.

You need to further define your question P51flier. "Like" as in operating on the same chipping sequences
used by Futaba...? Considering Futaba has never disclosed to anyone their chipping sequence that would
be a tall order for anyone to sell a receiver to be used with anything other than their own transmitter or
transmitter module.

Ed, of course you are right. Wea will never waste resources (I guess) to crack the chipping sequence of futaba. Why should they do that ? They make their own modular Tx/Rx system with proprietary chipping sequences. So here is my revised question:

Will the Weatronic 2G4 be a DSSS-FHSS-hybrid?
