The Axial 10 RTR goes about 7mph top speed. How fast can a Rock Racer go? I am still deciding on what to go with for my new electric truck. I am looking at the 16.4 E-Maxx or an Axial 10. Anyone out there use an E-Max to Crawl with and if so what mods have you done to it?

If you want speed and the ability to run on an off-road track go with the E-Maxx. If you want to rock climb then go with the AX10. They are really two totally different trucks.

So a Rock Racer is still a crawler with a hyped up name and has no bashing ability? How fast does a Rock Racer go?

The AX10 Rock Racer is the RTR version of the AX10 Scorpion.

I copy. Has anyone out there done any mods. to an E-Max for crawling, if so what? I think I want to be able to do some driving and jumping along with crawling, so I am leaning towards an E-Max now. I saw a good deal on an Axial up for auction I thought I might try and win. I am glad I held off.

I am glad because I do want to do more things with it than just crawl.

We have 2 Axial Rock Racers and they take more than a beating and crawl as well as my supers did. As far as the plastic being it's weak link, is a myth. We locked the front difs, installed all Deans and relocated the packs over the front axles. We tried the 14t pinion but went back to the 20t for more bashing fun on the way into the quarry. The crawling performance difference between the two was minimal. These trucks have been submerged, launched off 6' drops and have tumbled end over end down 50' hills and we have yet to do more than retighten and lubricate things.

How fast was it going when it went off a 6' jump? I know my scorpion would be like a brick going off a jump of that size.

whoever said 15mph, is dreaming......I'll have to GPS them and see but they're not that fast.....maybe 8-10mph off the rock drop.....my point was they are great for bashing and are very capable for "casual" crawling........I can imagine the "kit" being comp worthy with some subtle mods......but if I were to compete, it would be with a stick.....there's a video out there somewhere of some guy and his pimp cane doing some nearly impossible moves......obviously a multi channel radio and a very talented driver......if anyone knows of it, please share
