RevToTheRedline -> TrueRC LiPo batteries. (5/6/2008 4:16:34 PM)

Purchased my first Lipo pack from a company I just found out about recently, they are mostly oriented to planes and choppers but they offer tons of packs for custom applications too at AMAZING prices.

I picked up a 2650mah 3S transmitter lipo for my 3PKS it's nice, very good quality, and was only $40, way cheaper than anything else I could find.

Does the voltage readout on the 3PKS show the Li-po's correct voltage or are you using a voltage regulator? Thats a nice fit, I've been looking for something better for my 3PKS to.

No you don't need to run a regulator any 8 cell radio can handle a 3S just fine, reads as 12.5v in the radio fully charged.

how do you remove the old battery tray?

RevToTheRedline -> RE: TrueRC LiPo batteries. (5/7/2008 2:08:57 AM)

Why would you remove the tray?

dont you have to remove it to install a rechargable battery

newguy676 -> RE: TrueRC LiPo batteries. (5/7/2008 2:51:41 AM)

let me rephrase my question. how do you install a rechargable batter into the 3pm?

RevToTheRedline -> RE: TrueRC LiPo batteries. (5/7/2008 3:07:50 AM)

Personally I'm not sure I've never used a 3PM maybe someone will come in and share their knowledge. The above battery was installed in a 3PKS totally different radio, it comes with a rechargable battery the same size as the one I replaced it with the Lipo.

The 3PM has the same battery tray as the 3PKS, they both come with the same battery out of the box from the factory. When I bought my Hobbico HydriMax 9.6V 1650mAh NiMH Flat U Sanyo battery, if fit in both the 3PM & 3PKS and even the 4PKS. Futaba wouldn't waist time making three different batteries for three different battery compartments for such a simular radio design.

$40 - that was about how much I paid for a 2700mah NiMh battery pack [:@]

I wonder about the quality of the lithium batteries use? Not all batteries are of the same quality, that go's for any battery Li-po, NiMH, NiCD. I like the idea that you don't have to use any voltage regulator. My 9.6V battery freshly charged show up on my 3PKS as 11.6V.
