I mailed my application and fee over 10 days ago. How long does it take to get verification? Do they e-mail you, or phone? The weather is nice now and I would like to get to my training and flying!

If you mailed it in you will probably be getting a card in the mail at any time. If its holding you back, call them 1-800-I FLY AMA and ask them if you're good to go would they fax or email you a confirmation, thats good enough for most clubs.

Yeah, It's been pretty much the same for me. signed up 2 weeks ago, have yet to hear/receive anything. I hear this is pretty normal so I'm not overly worried, Still, a simple verification email would be nice

It takes a few weeks, but you can get your AMA membership number by phone or web. If you signed up on the web, the number may be available within a few days.

If the lack of a card is holding you back from training at your new club, ask them to team you up with an AMA introductory pilot. They have the option of training you while you wait for your membership card, but it is at the club's option.

I am an Introductory pilot and I work with new flyers while they are waiting for their card.
