If you run across a few extras, keep me in mind. TIA

I myselfhave run across engines that have a distinctive preference for an over size prop. Most recently I tested my K&B Sportster .45 and found it came alive with high nitro and a big prop. On the other end of the scale my ASP .12 didn't impress me on a 7X6 prop but when a 7X3 was installed WOW. 18,200.

I've heard that some had problems with viewing the picture of this engine. Here is a "good" link:

In another forum a question was asked about whether a modern 45 would fly a model originally powered by an early Enya 60 so I figured I'd see how much difference there'd be. These early baffled piston engines usually drove fairly large props and seeing I have a couple of them... .

The two baffled 60's I tried were my new Enya 60-IIIB which is just run in and an old Moki M5 which is very similar to the Enya. Both of these have CL venturis which would restrict them a little more than an RC carb but I figured at the revs they'd be running it shouldn't make a great deal of difference. The modern engine was an ST GS45 and all of them were muffled, no pipes .

The props I chose to use were a Zinger 12x5 and an unknown brand 13x6 while fuel was just a straight 25% castor with no nitro. So here's what I got on the test stand, first with the 12x5 and then the 13x6.

Moki M5....8800...8200
Enya 60...9300....8600
ST GS45..10500..9100

Was I surprised? You bet I was but it was obvious the ST was starting to struggle because of the comparatively much larger difference in revs between the two props.

The ASP .12 is one of the best kept secrets in R/C. That little rascal produces serious power and it throttles like a .61. Love mine.
