I would just like to say, some of us suffer from fat finger syndrome. It is a debilitating disease that keeps us from striking the correct keys. There is no cure, so I apologize in advance for those typos. By the way, I had to look up how to spell debilitating!

Typos are one thing. It's the complete disregard for proper English grammar that gets under my skin. Nothing says ignorant to me more than poor grammar. I know that's harsh, but that's my opinion.

There is probably no known cure, but there is a course of treatment: the backspace key and delete key, allows for correcting the incorrect key strike!

Jeesh, loosen up guys. I feel like I've been listening to my evil stepmother who just happened to be my English teacher in high school!!!! Yeah, that's right, my stinking stepmother was my high school English teacher. She didn't like kids or me!!!! Everything, I mean everything was a lesson in English. Now here I am 50 years later hearing the same stuff on an RC thread. If the spelling is CLOSE, let it lay. You keep critisizing oh, oh, I'll get called on that spelling !!! We are a bunch of guys & gals that enjoy the RC hobby, not nitt-pickers on " the correct spelling)!!!!!! Why don't we RELAX & enjoy it..

outdoorhunting, THANK YOU. I thought I was the only one. Having many problems as a kid I am not the best speller or organizer of a proper sentence. This is not a sign of IQ but more a sign of a troubled youth with LDs. Who is next? People with birth defects or debilitating injuries?

I don't mine the occasional Fat-Finger-Syndrome, God knows I suffer from it too.

I also don't mind misspellings on the occasional word now and then.

But it's those words that are misused that get to me.

The question, "When are you going to fast?" asks, "When are you going to stop eating?"

The question, "When are you going too fast?" asks, "When is your speed excessive?"

BTW, another misuse I see "a lot" is the word "alot"

"A lot" is two words, "Alot" is not a word and "Allot" means "Assign" (As in Allotment)

Everybody who has posted in this thread has made valid points.

I understand that there are reasons at times, very good reasons at times, for poor spelling and/or poor grammar.

To those folks who have good reasons, God bless you.

To those who are simply sloppy or lazy, I would wonder if you build your airplanes the same way?

And to those who do it deliberately to gain attention, shame on you.

I simply believe you should give as much attention to detail in your language habits as you do to your job or your hobby.

There is a difference here, the example you gave from the government are in fact TLA's (three letter acronyms) and ETLA's (extended three letter acronyms) where as R and U are not acronyms but simply laziness.

Other points, I have a valid excuse (dyslexia) and I was not offended, I would tend to agree.

Also the posts spell checking works well, if you misspell a word it will be underlined with a red dashed line, right click over the word and select the correct spelling. Works just like Micro$oft word.

Yeah, big difference between a Finger Faux Pas (what I like to call them) and/or FFS and the obviously blatant I-haven't-a-clue-how-to spell-what-word-I-just-chose-to-use-but-I'm-too-lazy-to-look-it-up-and-prefer-to-appear-ignorant-or-illiterate.
