{GBI}Harryball -> RE: Taipan Extreme drifter project (5/7/2008 12:43:30 PM)

Looks good, I didnt realize you new how build a RC car. LOL [)][:)]

ugly duck -> RE: Taipan Extreme drifter project (5/7/2008 2:46:52 PM)

You using the Eastwood powdercoat kit? My buddy got one and loves it. When I wired the garage up I wanted to wire in an oven, but I started running out of floor space so I passed...

I still can't quite believe that people are drifting RC cars, but I still can't quite believe drifting has become a sport either. [:'(] No offense to you or your project (which is pretty darn sweet) but I keep hoping drifting is a fad that goes away so people can get back to racing properly.

AllAboutFunHobbies -> RE: Taipan Extreme drifter project (5/7/2008 4:42:11 PM)

no it's the sears kit, but it's the exact same gun just in different color. thanks hopefully it will al turn out nice and the weight of the aluminum won't be an issue drifting. I think the power of that infinity 18 will over come that

don't take this the wrong way, but you have obviously never seen a live drift race, there's much more skill involved in drifting than regular nascar any one can drive a car around an oval for 500 miles or race in a straight line for a 3 second 1/4 mile

AllAboutFunHobbies -> RE: Taipan Extreme drifter project (5/8/2008 1:45:35 AM)

This is about all we got done tonight. Installed the front axle hubs (waiting on aluminum A-Arms), installed powder coated axles and powder coated the screws gold vein. I don't think you can tell from the picture that there gold vein, but maybe get a better pic of the screws later.

AllAboutFunHobbies -> RE: Taipan Extreme drifter project (5/8/2008 2:35:31 AM)

LOL, yes sir, I thought it was time to get back on track, LOL.

AllAboutFunHobbies -> RE: Taipan Extreme drifter project (5/9/2008 4:19:09 AM)

Tonights progress as it were. Powder coated the flywheel, flywheel spacer, Exhaust header, throttle and brake linkage, mounted up the trans and drive shafts to check fit and see how things were progressing.

Ya there will be, I'm thinking letting him do his thing, with the black and purples putting our logo on the side, like my savage and then maybe he can do something with those masks he posted up there, HOW ABOUT IT BLUE, starting thinking what you can do with the colors of our logo, our logo and those masks you posted. Not sure what body yet though, maybe you can look at some bodies and tell me what body would look good, what do you think there blue.

Kodiac400 -> RE: Taipan Extreme drifter project (5/10/2008 12:09:52 AM)

AllAboutFunHobbies -> RE: Taipan Extreme drifter project (5/10/2008 3:07:19 PM)

Now it's a waiting game, won't be making anymore progress till probablly thursday or friday, gotta finish my stock order with Ed and then just sit and wait, lol. Waiting sucks.

Edit:
No pics today but will post the pics of the premounted drift tires and rims, carbon Boost bottle and fuel filter with primer tomorrow.

Boxhead from MN -> RE: Taipan Extreme drifter project (5/11/2008 1:32:11 AM)

Those parts you powdercoated look awesome!!! The pipe and header look great together.

Have been thinkin' about buying a powdercoater for full scale parts. Never thought of using

one for RC parts. Looks cool,

Chris

AllAboutFunHobbies -> RE: Taipan Extreme drifter project (5/11/2008 2:39:05 AM)

That's the main reason I bought it was to powder coat R/C parts. Only got an oven big enough for a 1/10th scale chassis to fit in length wise, width wise and it's about 14 inches high.
