Ok.... let's try this again..... I am creating this forum for minority pilots to get together and trade experiences..... This is my second try @ this as the first thread was shut down by an RCU admin. Please post pics and vids of your favorite planes and let's see just how many of us there are!!!!!

I am confused. The title is about black pilots but the intro says minority pilots. Which is it?

I am Sweedish. I believe that would be considered a minority in the US. But I don't let it impact my flying.

I fly gliders and small electrics but I don't fly them in any kind of Sweedish manner. Is there a thread for Sweedish flyers?

You have heard fighter pilots talk about the "meatball" on the carrier deck? This is a go/no go device/light. I think it was a Sweedish invention.

Hey, are you trying to belittle Sweedish pilots?

The joy of these forums is that everyone is without color, race or religeous orientation. Unless you consider glow vs electric, or power vs. glider as religeous issues.

We are brothers of the wing, united in our love of things that fly. Any addition of race, religon or creed is like extra weight in the plane. It just drags us down and saps our energy. But I guess some people like heavy planes.

Can't we just be brothers of the wing here and leave color discussion to monokote or paint?

aeajr,

As you have identified your self as a minority, I will hereby give you a ghetto pass. A ghetto pass allows for you to be considered black for one full year from today's date. Congratulations...... Welcome to the club

djnsayne, I understand your initial post and can't see anything wrong with it. I'm white and my wife is black and I have often wondered if there were many black pilots. I'm just disappointed in some of the posts in this thread.

Thanks for being inclusive in your thinking. If it matters, I tend to use black monokote on the bottom of my wings so that they stand against the mostly white clouds in the sky. )

I don’t want to be judgmental, but you might want to readjust the 1/8 to 3/32nd?? Cuz your Avitar is lookin like Norm from Cheers…..

Hi all, DJ I think your thread is a great idea. And education and outreachis really important to keep our hobby growing. I think lot's of people are still hung up on the thought that flying planes is really expensive. Even the upfront costs of things like radios and chargers can be gotten around pretty cheap, less than a good softball bat and new cleats, and if you pick a nice easy plane to start with you can use the same diamond for both. Just my 2 cents.

Tim

I kinda agree with this, But how many Swedish pilots do you know? I bet there are a lot in sweeden... I would not be offend at all if you started a forum called Swedish pilots of America! or if someone started a forum called Latin pilots of America, or female pilots of america.... Would you still think that they would be adding extra weight? or just Recognizing the weight that is there all along?

Thanks tim.... you are correct and that is exactly my point. I know of many lower income families that have playstations and xbox's and such..... the hobby is really affordable, much cheaper than a gaming system and can be educational
