I came out of a inverted flat spin kind of low and ended up in the trees behind the shed. I got the plane out of the tree and it had no damage so I decided to take it up again. well let me be clear. First of all the plane was on for like an hour while I flew the Fun 50 and then I came back to the tribute. Anyway when i took off with the tribute, it went up and all battery power was lost.....it came down nose first, skidded on the asphalt, and crashed into the ladies bathroom. After the crash i looked at the reciever and the battery cable was really loose. I thing when I l anded in the tree that the battery became loose and when i took off the battery slid back and caused the loss of power.

DJ,
Being on for an hour can drain the average flight batt. (6-700 mah). Not fixable?
BTW "crashed into the ladies bathroom" is funny. Hope none of your fly girls was in there, lol

What? No video?

Good job on that blade! How did you get one of those over there in Iraq? I'd fly gassers over there all day! I know gas is cheap on that side of the water.... are you still in the Army? I served in the Air Force, working on F-15 fighters... never got to see the Sand Box though..

Thats kinda Funny ... so I'm guessing your not gonna try and put it back together this time? We can have a Tribute to the Tribute one day... LOL...
you left it in the tree and then got it out after an hour... then tried to fly it again! I know Rob had a blast with that one....

The small electrics are easy to get over there. I think I had 4 airplanes and that helicopter I flew over there.

The gas stuff was the problem over there because everything runs off diesel (JP-8) which is the only fuel easily attainable. We had AVGAS for our UAVs and the guys with the larger gas cars would use what we had left over from fuel samples for their stuff.

The glow stuff was a totally different story. If you didnt sneak it in country with you chances are you were never gonna get it. Think of it as shipping gallons of alcohol overseas via military shipping channels and you can see how getting fuel over is a pain.

I was reading over the Lanier 94" Thread and found this old post from Mitsu replying to Les40... by the way I ordered one of those Power HD 2550A servos From TBM Mitsu1 The price is pretty good for a servo like that... I'm gonna put it through the ringer once I get it and see how it does.

Lill Will....you the real deal man.......

I'm white and an electrical engineer but I'm a hip hop fan. My colleagues at work are very surprised when they get in my car and hear what I listen to. I guess it come from being raised in an ethnic neighborhood.

Mitsu1 -, .. Diversity, ... ain't in grand? I'm black, born and raised in the deep south and everyone that I grew up with along with most everyone I work with, are very surprised to find out I build and fly radio control model planes. Most everyone else here (both black and white) are hunters and fishermen.

This one post says alot...and thats just the way it is...

Since this is in the profile forum. Is this racial profiling?

Kwesdog - sod the frigging helli, get me one of those UAV's - I gotta have one of those!!!! Sorry guys, I'm not into hellis for a number of reasons, but I can appreciate the skill needed for that flight - and do we all have to stand at ease when flying or is that optional!!
Keep this thread going guys, all the best
DJ - I'll see you back at "Base" later with the Boyz.....

I hope that they keep this thread open, it deserves to be here. By the way, TJ for having started 6 or 7 months ago, you do pretty well with that 540. Your cameraman ain't the greatest though. [)]

That cameraman was our other flying partner Dan, we three are the youngest members of our club.... and yes Dan is very white....although he uses slang much more that either of us

Im' white on the outside but I'm Black where it counts- HOLLA
