Dont be a hater insane - you flew a plane into a tree, left it there and then flew another plane. When you finally got ur plane out of the tree you took off without checking the batteries that had been running in said tree for over a hour........ subsequently crashing you plane into a porta-potty.

T3 just crashes b/c he balls out of control on the sticks (2 feet off the ground)

I know that for most those are standard size planes, but to me those are some big birds. It looks like you are enjoying them. Given the size, do you guys drop things from them?

Tim

Yes We are all the same... Yet, we are called MINORITIES... ... I'm not a raciest at all, Its just very surprising to see back R/C pilots... I'm a member of a club here in St. Louis and of all the 60 to 70 members only about 5 or 6 of them are of the dark pigment... I get along fine with everyone and have not had any real problems... Ask yourself this, If you go to a club and most of the guys that are in that club are Black, and speak different, dress different, just have a different Swagger about them, wouldn't you feel a tad bit out of place? Eventually you'll get to know most of them and make friends, and once another white guy joins along with you, it will be comforting to know your not the only one... (I learned this in a magnet school mostly white)>... There are strength in numbers, where one person lacks 2 or 3 can make up for it... If you get into something and are not so sure you belong there, then another like you joins, then another... You'll feel alot more comfortable in that situation... So, this forum is not to be racist, or seperate... It's just to see who else (like me) is doing this besides me ...

I hear what you're saying, but honestly making a point of pointing out your differences is what keeps you from being the same.
If you're trying to fit into a group here I would think it would amoungst fellow flyers, and not to promote your ethnicity.
You note you're "called miniorities" - but that's only because you're not in the majority. I even sort of look foward to the day soon when those of hispanic heritage pass the caucasians so I can be a minority.
Honestly I believe that one of the problems in our country today is that instead of embracing our differences and enjoying each other for what we are that we spend too much time focused on trying to quantify and justify the differences. And in the end instead of being just Americans, we're all a bunch of this and that whatever-Americans with no unity between us.
The strenght in numbers you seek should be just in being a member of your fellow flyers, and not limiting yourself to just the black ones.

that's my 2-cents worth

Fern you need to make the jump to giant scale gas when you can. Bigger is better but theres a caveat to that also. When I was training to to fly UAVs I was lucky enough to be able to fly with Chip Hyde on pretty much a daily basis. The one thing he said too me that really stuck was "Most people think that two $300 airplanes are better than one $600 airplane.". Without reading into that quote you can see that quality is better than quantity.

Have fun and fly right!!

Harry

Hey Number 40,

I never told anyone that I was black until this thread was started... I've posted on many other threads before this one, I posted here because that was the name of the thread and I know D.J. and yes I am curious to talk with some of the guys that post on hear black or white... I too agree with you on this "Honestly I believe that one of the problems in our country today is that instead of embracing our differences and enjoying each other for what we are that we spend too much time focused on trying to quantify and justify the differences. And in the end instead of being just Americans, we're all a bunch of this and that whatever-Americans with no unity between us." The U.S has been like this well before R/C came along and will be this way for centuries... You have your Futaba guys, Hitec guys, Airtronics guys, and JR guys... Yep they all fly together and maybe get along but why do they chose one brand over the other? They embrace the differences and enjoy each but they still have there squads they roll with... ( I'm not saying I only roll with black guys here) and at the end they all fly in the same sky...
