Rc pilots getting together to give each other ideas about getting more people into the hobby is a joke?........and by the way...I do fly and enjoy myself.....I want others to enjoy themselves that why I created this thread.

That's when you get in those little skinny arse canoes, called shells, and then the occupants row as fast and in time as possible. You will note that a couple of intelligent folks will be on jetskis to officiate. My question becomes, why was the Brits question about water sports a valid post?

I re-maidened the little fokker tonight. It rose just fine and is now more controlable. But it gave up much earlier than expected. I will have to verify the power source and probably put a different prop on it.

Tim

Row - a noisy dispute or quarrel; commotion.

It just surprises me that race is being brought up in forum about rc models.
Getting more black guys into the hobby fair enough, but I’ve read through the thread and all I’ve seen is
people banging on about how racist the hobby is. What a load of rubbish.

At my flying site we have a good mix of black and white and to this day I’ve not heard race mentioned because
frankly when we meet up to fly it’s just not important. I think the real problem with the hobby is getting more
young people into it. RC flying is just not seen as cool by many young people. I’m in my 20's and am possibly the
youngest at our field.
Encourage more young people along and hopefully youngsters of all colours will take up the offer.

Thats cool Philppsa3, Just to let you know its not that important to me either... Actually it is seen as cool by young people they just don't have the time to do it. They spend most of there time out chasing The other kind of Tail ...

Oh yeah, I see your from England, Hmmmmm things may be a tad different over there then here in the states as far as the race card goes...

Phippsa3, I have this innate need to make a chuckle. And that was a bit of fun. I should clarify things a bit for you. Although I have a reasonable bit of Cherokee in me, I'm officially "other" or "decline to state".

T3, that could be the problem! All of my other batteries are red, but the one I put in the little fokker is white . I'm cycling the battery and put a different air screw on the nose. Should I paint the battery?

I got my order from Blackdog rc. I really like this guy. He verifies or busts the manufacturors mah claim and c claim. I know exactly what I'm buying. Also if you haven't tried a Sombra Labs rx, I strongly recommed giving them a try. They do not glitch, ever. It is annoying however when your doing pre flights and forget to turn on the TX. You hear the servos get power and that's it. I will admit to cursing at the deans plugs and swapping batteries before realizing that an elf came along and turned off my radio . Good prices as well. Just sharing,

Tim

Well T3beatz your right it’s not fair for me to comment on the situation in the US as I don’t live there.
As far as the youngsters I’ve found that many view the idea of flying rc a bit geeky, until they see the models and are
generally impressed. Possibly the financial side of the hobby is keeping youngsters away as let’s face it, it’s not cheap.

One particular post disturbed me a little.
djinsayne - I am going to start an All Black 3D Team....who is in?

I’m not sure if it was meant in jest but I can’t see any positives in this.
What’s the point? If people separate themselves from the mainstream into small closed groups, then it’s difficult to have
any sympathy for them when later on down the road they complain about being isolated and left out.
Imagine if the role was reversed and I stated on here I was starting up a white’s only 3D team. The uproar! I'd probably be kicked off of RCU.

I think we would all like to see more people encouraged into the hobby be them black, white, asian but I’m not sure about separating the different colours
into teams once they’re in. Sounds to me like apartheid.

Wait... I didn't say you couldn't comment on things over here I just said things maybe a bit different... ( I don't know for sure as I've never been to england). But I would like to go I hear the girls over there are nice ...

phippsa3,

phipps,

you wouldn't have to start an all white 3d team as they are all that way anyhow.......it's already been done and is the norm
