My Raptor G2 is currently in pieces. I have walkera 36 tail and main rotor metal assembly. I have a DX7 transmitter and will install a Specktrum receiver. I'm planning to upgrade the servos and gyro. Any recommendations?. I don't even know what size the servos are. I have Trex 450 and I know the Trex servos don't fit in the G2. I am still new to this hobby but managed to build 2 450s. I'm confident I can put this together with the right parts....my fingers are crossed!

Thanks in advance.

Goto raidentech.com or xheli.com. Both sites have the upgrade parts for the raptor g2. Youll be able to see what size you can use then my choice would be futiba. Im in the process of upgrading one of my raptor g2's myself

Did you replace your cyclic servos? Here is a pix of my raptor g2 with walkera 36 aluminum rotor head and tail.

I think you should keep your cyclic servo stock and upgrade the tail to digital. Which gyro you will be using? GY401?

I have 2 GY401s that works well for my 450's. I was thinking using the same. I just don't know about the tail servo. I have HS9650mg on the 450's. For the motor i was thinking of getting the 25am Exceed ESC and Exceed motor. Fairly cheap from xheli. They are 50 something for both. I don't know if xheli still have the g2 upgrade deal for ESC/motor/battery for 79 bucks.

assembling the frame/body/tail is fairly easy. finding zero pitch and getting the +11/-11 would be hard I think since I have not seen a build video yet. let me know what problems you encounter if you happen to build yours first. i'm putting together the electronics that I need to finish mine. i'm not in a hurry since i have 2 450's to play around with.

fyi - I put together the links based on the walkera instruction manual. It has the proper link size in the last page. May or maynot need minor adjustments for zero pitch.

I think for a beginner who wants to get into 3D you should try -10 and +10 first.

http://www.xheli.com/brushless-motor-25a-esc-lipo-battery.html you should get this one and it work for exceed g2.

As for tail servo you should get a digital because the GY401 works best with digital servo.

thanks yadac123. is the swash type of the G2, 90 or 120 degrees? i don't know the difference. my 450s are 120 degree swash type. i'm using the 450s as a model for rebuilding the G2. I have the diagram downloaded from walkera site for the 36 and Bob Finless video for reference but wasn't sure about the swash type. I'll be getting the 401 and 9650 combo for the g2. it's pricey but i know it works. If i decide to buy a different cyclic servos, what is the size of the servos? I will crash this a lot so I want one that is durable. The stock servos, two of them are stripped from a minor crash.

if you use the dx7 the swash should be 1 servo because the g2's pitch is controlled by one servo and it's mCCPM.

Thanks Andy. I'm going to try the stock gyro with digital tail servo. Which one of the servo in xheli.com fit the bill..http://www.xheli.com/servos.html? I'm also replacing the stock cyclic servos. I don't know what to order. I'm getting the lipo/esc/motor combo from xheli. Will my stock lipo that came with my G2 will still work? It is exceed 11.1 1200 mah. I don't know what the C rating is. Thanks in advance.

If you are ordering the upgrade combo then don't use the stock battery because it's too low C rating.

If you want to go digital for tail get this. http://www.xheli.com/ra12grmipldi.html
