Don't run ABC engines rich - period. I'm assuming that you are running it blubbery rich, to where it is four-cycling. This is a big No-No with tapered bore engines (ABC/ABN). You will destroy the engine with this kind of running. IF that is what you are doing. I don't know you and I wasn't there when you ran the engine, so please keep this in mind. I do not intend for my comments to be insulting. A rich two-cycle, non blubbering, is okay. Perhaps this is what you are doing? You NEED a fuel with some castor oil in it. A little bit of castor might get you by, but at least half castor lube would be best for break-in. Choose a prop that is at the small end of the prop size chart for this engine. Heat is the enemy during break-in. Save the big lumber for later. Good luck. Ed Cregger
