nitrosportsandrunner -> with out foams? (5/8/2008 2:54:36 AM)

on ebay there is a fairly cheap set of imex 5.5 tires glued on rims, but the seller says there are no foams. is this a decent setup? i thought that most people would cut star shapes into the foams. iv bought a custom alum chassis and 55t motor for my wheely king, and need a set of tires and rims and i prefer if they are ready to run. any thoughts?

Never heard of running without foams, sounds like someone was experimenting and it didn't work so they figured to unload the tires.

Imex tires are fairly stiff, they don't collapse under their own weight so they don't necessarily need foams.

I would steer away from Imex tires, stiff tires are not something you want.

Ok we have a real rock crawler (98 jeep) but if you run no foams in the tire (rc tires) it will form around the rock which is what you whant so it will have more tire surface that means more tire on rock more grip on rock. I might be wrong but sometimes we only run 5 pounds in each tire on our jeep so it will grip around the rock.
