A.C.E. ( www.tankace.org ) will be having it's June meet/battle event on June 14th & 15th. It's normally a private ACE meet, but I have decided to open it up to anyone that is in the Rockville, MD area those days. Go to the ACE website for address and the contact page to drop us a line if you may be interested in coming. It will be very relaxed with plenty of action, but also plenty of tank talk over a couple of cold ones and food to boot. Thanks

Hey Bill!

MACV is still kickin'! They just had a battle a few months ago and the next is the second week on next month ... the same as yours. When Ken left, so did the webmaster and with everyone's schedule and work, posting a date is almost impossible to uphold.

I cannot make as many as I really want because of the distance. To make a battle in my own state takes almost 3 hours driving time. Now that gas is nearing $4 a gallon making any future battles looks grim.

Three years ago it took almost $50 dollars round trip in gas. I can't imagine what it'll take now.

They HAVE secured a permanent home now, so transporting all of the equipment is now a thing of the past.

Jeff, what permanent home do you all have ? I heard there may be, but didn't know there was.

Also, Willy Loewer is hosting your club's wbesite on his. He has so much space on there that he uploaded your old site. He just needs someone to give him info to update it. Things like events, photos, members, etc...

Here is the link, still to it: http://www.customrcmodels.com/MACV/

Hey Bill! Okay, where do I begin. I know Willy is hosting the website (I do have it thanks) but I'm not in charge of supplying him with that information. Even when it was, attendance suffered much that posting the dates seemed unimportant when the battles continued to be cancelled. I offered to help (my wife runs several websites) so starting one myself for the group wouldn't be a big deal but I'm just a member. The invitation is always there but it's not for me to decide. Also, Lynn has stepped down as CO.

The last battle and new home is the North Webster Community Center. Haven't been there but all the battlefield items are stored there now. That's about as permanent as it gets. Sure beats having the Church cancel on you at the last minute too. I haven't battled since the end of 2006 all because of my neck, so driving that distance is a bear.

That's all I know.

Thanks for the info and sorry about your physical conditon. I do hope you get better. Also, I didn't mean to stir up any issues within MACV. We can always converse off-line if you want. I know Lynn did step down and he also is into trucks, which Willy is big time. I think some of you guys may be making a trip to Willy's again. I missed the last one they were at, which I heard it was a blast. Nothing like trucking, training & tanking all in one weekend. And Willy does know his stuff about all three.

Well, please take care and do hope you can get some tanking in soon. You need to blow the stink off those things at some point.

Bill W.

Oh you're good! Nothing said that isn't already known and it's all good for everyone I guess.

Thanks for all your kind words too.
