Hi Mike,

How's it going? My first post here, live in Sydney Australia.

I've recently bought a Multiplex Easystar, it has a ZEBRA 3CH FM Aero transmitter.

It's been performing flawlessly for many hours, but has recently become intermittently faulty on power on. The red LED flashes at a very high rate (much faster than the low battery indication flash)

During this fast flashing state, when the Easystar is powered up, the elevator and rudder do not move at all and do not return to centre (if they are off centre prior), motor does not start and RX does not initialise.

Continual switching the TX on and off, maybe 30 - 40 times might get it to power up correctly, it then seems to power up ok for the next few power on/off attempts.

Once the LED is stable (not flashing), I can fly, hoping that whatever the fault is, that it doesn't happen while I'm in flight...

Batteries and terminals test OK, under load voltage 7.8V with 6 rechargeable AA's.

Oddly enough, this very same problem is happening intermittently with a mate's unit, same type of transmitter and plane.

I thought it could be some sort of interference detector, but unlikely.

I cannot find any reference to this fast flash indicator state in any documentation supplied or on the Net.

Your assistance would be very much appreciated,

Regards,

Mark.

Hi Mark,
Your 36MHz Zebra system is unique to the Australian distributor. (A 40 Mhz version is unique to UK for non flying models.)
In this instance, suggest you redirect your inquiry to Model Engines, 44 Downing Street,Oakleigh, Melbourne 3166. 61-3-9569-4440 or email mikefarnan@modelengines.com.au
