I'm seeing a lot of batteries... I am upgrading to a nice brushless setup, and I want to run a 7.4V 2S LiPo, 4000mAh.... I see a lot of them with 10C, 25C, 20C... Im newer to electric here so I am at a loss when it says the "C"... I know it is a discharge rate or something but im not sure what is good to get... I am installing a CC Sidewinder 4600kV setup on a Tamiya Dark Impact and will most likely be using Deans connectors; any help would be great.

THanks.

"C" means capacity and the number is a multiplier or capacity (for the discharge rate)

A 20C battery would have twice the current capability of a 10C battery of same capacity.

A 10C 5000 mah would be identical (current capability) to a 20C 2500 mah battery.

Many of the ratings can be deceptive and way off especially for packs , but if comparing like brands/sizes/C ratings then generally the higher the better. As long as the battery current capability is above the set-up's current then it is good to go.

The 4600 with 2S in a Dark Impact is going to be fairly easy on batts.

The C rating is a measure of the maximum current you can draw from the battery without damaging it. The ratings are often rather optomistic, your battery will last longer if you run below that maximum rating.
