Hi, justy bought a trugggy on line.what is the best way to breaking in it
it seems that leaving the glow plug for a while makes the engine running smooth
so far i just used 1 tank running on idle

idle is old school way, do the heat cycle.
get it to 200 - 220 for about 5 mins with the truck on the ground moving.
shut it off,put it at BDC until ambient temp.
then repeat increasing the time spent at 200 - 220
do that for about 20 to 30 mins of run time and the motor should be broken in, i've had great sucess doing it this way.

there are alot of threads about it that go into more detail

no leave the glow plug in with the glow plug ignighter off, if its not running with it off its to rich,
You'll need a temp gun to help you heat cycle, or you can use the water method, drop a couple drops of water inside the head see how long it takes to boil off. if it starts frying right away your to hot

200-220 degrees that is... like slayer said having a good temp gun helps alot. by glow plug i hope you mean your glow plug ignitor. use the instructions your truggy came with or search the forums for engine break-in there are lots of threads...

good luck and have fun...

you need to increase your idle by screwing in the idle screw a bit, screw it in until the idle does not change at all when you brake. you can take the air filter off (with the engine not running of course) to check that the carb is open by about 0.5-1mm at both idle and full brake.

Thing is, for it to be running with an idle set so low, your throttle linkage is most likely set to be opening the carb at idle, so when you raise the idle like I suggested above, you will need to back off your throttle trim on your transmitter or your engine will pull away without you accelerating

you will have a screw on an angle that is your idle and your low speed is on the slide part the main idle neddle and the low speed will effect it a little

yeah, the idle is the one coming out at about a 30 degree angle, usually just underneath the carb where the air filter fits on.

adjust it so it's idling steady but not stalling out or engaging the clutch

there is no factory setting for the idle needle. You have to take the air filter off so you can see down the carb (whilst the engine is NOT running obviously) screw in the idle needle so you have a gap of approximately 0.5 to 1mm when the carb is fully closed. you can then fine tune it when the engine is running and up to temperature.
