I have a pretty much brand new OS 18tm in my Revo but would really like to upgrade to a more powerful engine. I also have a FT NTC3 without a motor. I realize the OS 18tm will bolt right in but the crank shaft will have to be changed. My question is what crank would I need to get (would the crank from the tz work?) and is this even worth while since I can get a brand new OS 18 crv for $110 (but I REALLY want more power in my Revo)?
Thanks guys.

the tm will be fine, but is it a short shaft? if it is just add a clutch nut and youre set, no change of shaft.

I run a 18tm (modded)in an rs4 with a traxxas clutch and a hpi clutchbell. The only issue is the car basically falls apart under any stress, but the tc3 should be golden.

Doesn't the OS 18TM have Traxxas specific mounting lugs?

Same mounting hole pattern as any small block, but traxxass specific threads and size flywheel nut. Like I say, just use trx flywheel, nut, clutch shoes and a hpi clutchbell. You may need to cut the clutchbell down to fit properly, but no biggie. This engine rocks in an onroad car, gobs of torque so you can gear pretty high, and pretty high rpms. Tc3 should handle power just fine and give good all around performance. Not as good as a tz, but nothing to sneeze at for sure . Good luck and have fun!
