I've got a leaking front bearing in my ninja .28, which I've heard I shouldn't worry about, but it makes me uneasy that the bearing is leaking, and I'd like to replace it. $30 bearing or $300 engine, I'd like to go the cheaper route.

What are the best bearings to buy to replace front bearings? The measurements are 7x9x6mm.

Thanks.

If you get in touch with these guys and tell them what sizes you need they can hook you up with different choices at different prices. http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.aspx?p=about

Amain has the TKO ceramic 7x19x6 front engine bearing for $14.99
Good bearing, good deal.

You will probably need one of those bearing presses too.. Some guys can do it with a combo of heat/cold. Why not call Ninja and see if they will replace the engine? Sounds like a MFG defect.

Bearings are easy to replace. I use the method RB Concepts recommends.

Ditto on the TKO ceramics. I have one in both my RB C6BB and Sportwerks .26v2.

I contacted Ninja and thy said that because GRP dropped them, I'd have to contact GRP directly and then see what they'd do.

But I'd have to ship it to Italy.

I found that my TKO ceramic front bearing started leaking as fast as the stock OS one I replaced. I'd say go with Boca.

Does everyone here know that small amounts of leakage is normal from the front bearing, as they are not completely sealed....
Running the motor rich also makes it seem worse. Your motor is not a completely sealed system, it's normal to have small amounts of oil.

It wasn't just small amounts of oil. :| When I blew in the line, bubbles came out, which meant that there was also an air leak.

No thats pretty normal and doesn't mean there is necessarily an airleak.... is the motor suffering from air leak symptoms ?

Yeah, during a normal run, and it's tuned pretty rich, but it was running around 350 when I temped it, so I haven't run it since then.

well don't feel too bad my OS 28 is leaking from the front bearing something fierce...Just pissing fuel all over the truck and motor..... I leave the motor sit overnight and there is a huge puddle under the truck where oil has seeped out the motor and onto the table.... Motor still runs really good, only symptom is it wants to slightly hang the RPM up after a high speed pass.. other then that its running pretty much flawlessly..I should have some video of it today..
