JCINTEXAS -> BAKERS AA CASTOR OIL AVAILABILITY? (5/9/2008 3:15:45 AM)

Does anyone know where to buy BAKERS AA castor oil, or any good brand of racing castor? Motorcycle and go cart shops sell it by the pint and quart, but it's too expensive to be used economically for glow fuel. I'm looking to buy 5 gallons or more. Would also like to buy a good synthetic that will mix with methanol. Does anyone have a good source for these lubricants?
Regards
JC

You might be able to order oil in quantity from
http://www.cooperfuels.com/
RCU member "Fuelman" is the owner of the company

There is a RC Fuels forum on RCU and there's nearly always a discussion going on about home brewing and where to get deals on ingredients

Also S&W www.s-whobby.com He no longer lists castor on his website price list, but email him for availability and price. His prices are usually very good. I don't think there would be a hazardous shipping fee for castor.

I use SIG castor when I blend my fuels.

Boy, I noticed that with the cooler temps of winter (Southern hemisphere) Castor sure gets really *thick* compared to synth.

Does it ever. I flew on a very cold day last year and the cleanup was like trying to remove butter from the plane.

If you are going to buy 5 gallons or more then I suggest you look up VP racing fuels on the web, look up the nearest distributer to you and contact them. Otherwise call Morgan fuels and Fox Manufacturing, nether sell it on the web. Those are the two cheapest by the gallon, about $20 over a year ago.
