Please reply if you have run one or both engines. I need honest feedback only as I need to buy one of the two engines within a month's time from tower hobbies or amain hobbies. Anyone of of them will go into my Hyper 8.5.

the Ninja is smoother and IMHO better for a Buggy..the Picco has more power and can be too much power for a Buggy and is better suited to a Truggy...

I have the Jammin JPX .21 which is basically a re-badged Picco P-7r evo II. I think this engine is an absolute beast, and when you consider the price at A-Main, you can't go wrong. I run it in my ST-RR and it has never let me down.
I have never had the carb issues that many on this board have mentioned. Mine has held a solid tune, only needing minor adjustments from the different elevations at a few tracks that I go to.
I believe the Picco P-7r evo III should be available soon. I would check A-main for availability if you're considering the Picco. Good Luck!

Which one of the the engines has a good low end? The track I run at is technical which requires low end.

i've driven both, tuned and race ready. there is no comparison to the ninja, except maybe the new grp's which are the same thing with different heads. it has CRAZY bottom, middle and top, way too much motor for my driving skills. mr21, byrons gen2 30%, os p3 plug and jp3 pipe, hang on. and the thing had a 6.5mm venturi and never went over 189c.

the Picco has much stronger low end then the Ninja...the Picco has a stronger mid and top as well... But many people find the Picco to be too powerful for Buggy use.. which is why I recomend the Picco only for Truggy applications...the Ninja is smoother and easier to drive which makes it a better choice for a Buggy.....I have owned and modified both motors, as well Adam has dynoed both motors as well.....Ninja's aren't known for having big HP, they are more of a finesse motor..the Picco is a heavy hitter and known to be a real handfull......

If I need to tame the bottom end a bit; how can I do it?

I am planning to run the hyper .21 pipe with the ninja for the time being. Would it make any difference?

If you want to tame bottom end ( which you wont with the Ninja as it has a weak bottom) but if you get the Picco ands its bottom is too much you can add a carb restrictor, that will tame it down in the low end

1. Picco engines are only shipped by tower hobbies internationally right?
