I'm building my EF Extra 260 480 and when I installed the wheel pants, the screw that holds them on begins to hit the wheel when just screwed in about 2/3 of the way. If I screwed it in all the way it would go into the wheel.

I put it together exactly as described in the manual, and am pretty mechanically inclined. Other than some type of spacer, it doesn't appear this will go together properly if put together the way the manual states.

Any thoughts or help is appreciated.

Thx,

Aaron

I'm a dummy who apparently cannot read. I read and re-read the instructions and skipped over the part where it tells exactly what to do to avoid what happened!

Other than that, the plane's about finished. I'm going with the Scorpion 3008-32.

There is a regular 4-40 nut (not lock-nut) that goes on after the second lock nut. Basically, you put the 4-40 hex head bolt through wheel, then a washer and lock-nut, put the assembly through the landing gear, secure it with the second washer and lock-nut then put the 4-40 regular nut as a spacer.

I have had my EF 260 since last year, Very good and fun plane to fly. The only problem I had was I used a 10BL for the motor. The 10BL is just a pinch larger than the 480. I I had to make adjustments to the cowl and grind the opening a little. Nothing really hard. I will ay the EF 10BL really brought the plane to life and had enough poweer to do anything.

Thx for the info, I'm leaning towards the Scorpion 3008-32.
